Rumor: Canucks: Should I stay or should I go? Pete stays and Miller goes!

Are you talking about the jabronis named Benoit Groulx and Adam Sykora being scratched or did I miss something else that was reported?

Wouldn't be surprised if Zibanejad waived and those are some of the pieces going back to VAN also but idk. Weird deal to randomly formulate a return on, feels like it'll be a blockbuster of pieces

I'd be pretty unhappy if Miller went to the Bruins. Odds are that he is back to being a ppg centre by next season as soon as whatever weirdness is causing this season goes away.

Let's send them Juulsen instead, that guys almost a double agent already anyways.
Miller will at worst be a PPG center who can play great defense (in the playoffs and in big matchups, he might not try on defence every single night though).

He will also bring the grit needed to win a playoff series against a team like the Florida Panthers.

He needs a change of scenery however, because he seems to function much better on winning teams.

I think the return for Miller will be higher than what most people are expecting in this thread. People are treating him like he's washed up. He's still the same player he was last season, he just needs a new environment.

I think a team that believes they can win a Cup this season is the most likely destination for Miller.

Doesn't make sense for the Rangers as they're not even going to make the playoffs.

Devils or Stars make sense. Maybe Bruins.

Dhaliwal tweeted that two of the rangers prospects that were scratched today in the ahl would have been apart of the deal. Deal fell through tho

Get it over with already.

What I'm more getting at, is what urgency do the Rangers have to make a trade for Miller right now?

The deal falling through kinda shows that they're willing to walk away (at least for now).

A team that thinks they can win this season will be more willing to get a deal done right now.

you will be disappointed then because he has 5 full years left in his 30s. If he had just 1-2 yrs you'd get a decent return. 5 yrs is something else because the last 3 yrs are a concern. And poor ROI

That is why tesm want to talk to him about his intent to retire if he is not putting up the numbers.

They should be building around Hughes and Pettersson
Did you miss the part where they signed Pettersson to an 8 year contract?

It’s just that the no-trade clause hasn’t kicked in, and the player hasn’t been meshing for 65-70 games dating back to last season…

Pettersson is a very good player, but nowhere near a franchise player. He’s available for the right price.
