At this point whichever the Canucks trade they'll still have issues with the other. Trade Miller? There's no guarantee Pettersson will return to form, or even if he does will he fall into a slump again down the road. Trade Pettersson? What if JT Miller still ends up ruining the lockeroom by being a sulky buzzkill. They might have to get rid of both of them.

Miller for Carlo, Coyle, and a pick or prospect seems to match up almost too much. But that only happens if the Canucks really want to jettison JT. The Bruins are down right now but he's a big part of what is missing, it might make him consider waiving his NTC for them. Otherwise it's probably futures to a contender or they patch up whatever fire is making this smoke in the room and he doesn't move.

JT Miller is going to crash before that contract ends

We see this was 30+ players on the rangers.

Hr has 5 full years Kraft. If he had 1-2 left hed get a positive return with 5 years he does not have anywhere near the v as lue mango csn fans are hoping for.

His contract if the perfect example of having changes in retention each year so instead if 50% it could be something like vancouver teysins 0%, 25%,50%,75%,100% each of the next 5 yrs.
Funny thing about player value, future of the contract doesn't reduce it. Miller is obviously being traded and that is affecting him, but these last few games won't affect his value. The absolute fact that he has been one of the highest producing centers in the league for 4 years now is where is value is determined. And before the last few games where he's packed it in, he was still a ppg player.

What is Alvin waiting for guys?? It doesn't seem to be helping anything, by dragging his feet.

A dance partner may not be found for JT?? The guy has talent, but seems to sour everywhere he goes?

Any GM will take a guy who will make them more competitive for 2-3 years during their window and not care about the locker souring on him in 3-4 years. GM's of competitive teams often have a shelf life of anywhere between 1-4 years depending on the owner and level of playoff success they are having without winning the cup.

I think trading JTM right now would net very little for the Nucks in return. Everyone knows his locker room issues, he has not been good at all this year, his injury/age could be a concern, and he is a 30+ years old that play a physical game, the body will break down sooner than later. Having a NMC just makes the situation more unfavorable for Allvin. If he is traded, I really don't expect we get much back. Maybe a younger player with lower ceiling, a late 1st, and a roster player to balance out the salary, kind of like a rental package.

Would I take that deal? Its hard to say, it depends how damaged you think his relationship with the team is. If it is not salvageable, you kind of have to take what you can get and move on. Obviously Allvin and most Nucks fans hope both him and Petey can return to form, but my confidence in that fades a little bit more each passing day.

That's not how trades work based on prior production. Its about future production and the fact you are ignoring os 90^+ of players making 5M+ cap hit have negative ROI in the last 3 years

Would Vancouver trade Miller for Nemec? Helps their defense. Jersey looking for a center.
Someone posted a 3-way trade, with Buffalo involved and Byram going to Vancouver with Nemec going to New Jersey but not sure if Buffalo would have any appetite for that.

Hes only willing to waive for the Rangers. Not much the Canucks can do because they wont trade him for garbage.

This will drag out into the off season unless Miller will waive somewhere else or the Canucks get a stupid offer for Pete.

Sounds like quite the mess. Bad thing about NMC. If it goes bad can get a team into mess
