They have attractive core pieces, but not enough to get out of the mid. In a league in which rebuilds are long and certainly can fail, it would take some brass ones to actually blow it up. At the same time, they're not close to contending. Tough spot.

Tavares lied and helped screw up the Islanders which is why the team is so messed up today, Isles fans (unjustly) worshipped him when he was an Islander, no one hates Barzal, frustration maybe but no one hates him

Only fans who are uninformed or in denial believe what you wrote. The last legit 1st line wing the Isles have had was Ziggy Palffy. Since then they've had more inept/fake owners than legit 1st lines.

Lou is bleeding this team down to the bone. A rebuild is necessary (even though a patch of fans can't face it), and the longer Lou is GM the longer it will take to get this team back to contention.

Something has to give on the Island.....they lost 3-1 on home ice to the lowly Ducks and travel to Columbus tomorrow.

Team just looks slow and dispirited right now. I wonder how long Roy and Lou can co-exist.? It was different the end of last season when the Isles got hot. But the Roy magic is gone.

Jets playing too good right now so maybe bad timing. BUT. Fans wanted to move on from Pionk and possibly Ehlers too depending who you asked. Both UFA next summer. NYI need high end offensive talent and have too many centers.
