LETS GO.. EVERY USA Fan (heck even Canadian hockey fan...just BS the TOWN and country to a USA city) go to that site and SEND THEM THE MESSAGE we want to see the game. Just remember...CLASSIC BOXING will be aired instead of the LIVE GOLD MEDAL game. I still cant believe they arent showing the game. It makes me sick.

And if you do send ESPN a message, tell them to cover the World Championships extensively this year. There will be tons of NHL players, and it will be a great tournament to watch.

anyone else get this return email?

Dont give up! Maybe just MAYBE they will tape delay the game for us. C'on guys go to that site and ASK or Question WHY they wont show the game and ask if they can.

For the past couple years I wondered why the NHL and even USA Hockey didn't do more to promote the sport as a whole. International Tourny's, even college hockey...I understand the whole ratings issue, but with Directv I get 40+ regional Fox Sports channels, the other night in primetime I got to watch the World Eating Tournament and the Paper-Rock-Scissors Championships...I'm sure those were on for the ratings :banghead:

If a larger governing body got behind the sport to promote it to the networks- i would think they'd be more likely to put it on...besides couldn't one of the channels promote a Ohio St. - Michigan hockey game...even to non-hockey fans, the rivalry itself would draw some interest.

I appreciate your patriotic nature by broadcasting the USA WJT U-20 hockey games, not broadcasting the finals because of no US team involvement is sadly shocking. Though I do enjoy most of your programming, I am clearly steering away from repeats of the World Poker Tour, billiards or whatever else is deterring you from broadcasting a fantastic amateur event.

Sometimes i wonder about the average american sports fan, honestly if you like the contact in football, how come hockey has not caught on? hell even rugby?

oh well i personally can't sit through a full football game.

P.S. Would you like to continue to express your opinions about ESPN and

I wonder too. I personally am dying without NHL hockey, these games were like Christmas in June for me lol. It boggles my mind when I see people say hockey is boring, they have no idea what they're missing.

Because people seem to lump it in with a lesser scoring sport like soccer that isn't big over here at all. Hockey started to take off in 94. Everyone I knew was really getting into it. Then the lockout... then the sports continued downward spiral thanks to small ice, the trap, bigger players, LESS SPEED AND OFFENSE. That's what we Americans like to see. In baseball more people want to see the 11-7 game with homers over the 3-2 pitchers duel. People want to see the offensive Colts or Packers in football not the defensive Ravens. Just the way it is...

Why has basketball caught on? It's a terrible sport played by individuals who for the most part just care about their money and reputation. Because - SCORING AND SPEED. It's a sad trend.

For hockey to pick back up we need some young visible stars that people can relate with... hopefully Crosby, Heatley etc... we need MAJOR overhaul of the game. No redline, less goalie equipment etc... ideally European ice surfaces which won't happens because these arenas aren't going to be majorly altered. The game nedds halp BAD... and thats assuming it starts up any time soon. Thats what the US needs... more fans losing interest... :shakehead

.

Because hockey is to complicated to learn and most of my fellow americans do not want to learn a new sport when they have Snoozefest to watch..sorry Baseball i mean.

"Please show the Canada versus Russia final game of the tournament. It is not fair to not show the game simply because the US is not involved. Most hockey fans know who the players on team Canada are and will be just as likely to watch the game as they would be if USA was in the finals."

I emailed this to them. But im sure its too late and they really don't care.
