After 49 games, here are the Kings leaders, in ES Goals this season:
Carter 13 (39 games)
Williams 10
Toffoli 9 (33 games)
Brown 9
King 8
Kopitar 7
Stoll 5
Nolan 5
Martinez 4 (35 games)
Richards 3
Clifford 3
Doughty 3
Voynov 3
Things that kind of jump out here. Toffoli is 2nd in that he averages
an ES Goal every 3.66 games. Toffoli had 0 goals in has last 11 games. At least the last 8 of those were on line 3. So with 9 ES Goals in his first 22 games, he was the teams #1 ES Goal scorer. He then didn't score in 2-3 games and was banished to line 3.
Nolan and Martinez have more ES Goals than Richards...Voynov has 0 PP goals.
The Kings need goals, period. It's their #1 problem, along with the #25 ranked PP. Toffoli should be up here and playing every night in the top 6, period. If he has a few mishaps or not great in his zone, so what? It's not like he was consistently bad, or didn't have effort. About 1/3 of the others do as well...and most of them aren't scoring goals!
