Pretty weak start to the season for Geno.
Averaging less than a PPG, just three goals, and his typical defensive/turnover gaffes.

Occassionaly like against the Rangers he shows some flashes but is easily cornered by the defense.

What gives?
Is this just a "slump" over not having his BFF Neal?
Is his shoulder still injured from last season?
Is he pouting Jagr/Ovi style and will get out of it?

This is his MO. He'll probably have an incredible season next year. Who knows what's going on with him, it's incredibly frustrating. Apollo Creed needs to train him, get back that eye of the tiger.

I don't think anyone should be too concerned about it. It's Malkin.

He and Crosby are different. Crosby sort of brings it really consistently, but Malkin is kind of feast or famine. He beasts at a higher level than Crosby when he has something to prove.

I don't see him as having a lot to prove right now, and that's probably the issue.
