I don't know about Kane's history, but he saw his numbers the entire time and still elected to finish the hit. He basically has no excuse at all.

Yah I saw the hit. I was surprised there wasn't a huge thread about it considering it was Kane.

Also the fact that he was mugged afterwards by multiple players. The hit was bad but the retaliation was ridiculous.

HF has a weird hive mind when it comes to who gets a thread for questionable hits.

MacKinnon's elbow didn't get one till the following day and Kane didn't get one at all.

Boarding is boarding, no matter if it's called or not. This time it was called. Also, calling Kane a first time offender because he's never been suspended doesn't mean he hasn't done stupid things in the past. I feel he could easily have been suspended for other hits and/or unprofessional behavior on the ice. He's no angel.
