1) Toronto: a pill we have to swallow. Luckily their post season failure will inevitably sink them
2) Oilers: Nothing more than a 2 man team. Weak defensive and in Goal. Will most likely sink in the post season.
3) Jets: a Lesson for Dorion and Melnyk. Retool, do not Rebuild. F'ng excellent.
4) Canadians..They sold off last year, got lucky against a Pittsburgh team with bad Goaltender (oops I forgot), a hot start and suddenly everyone saw them as contenders! over-rated.
5) Canucks: a Lesson for Dorion and Melnyk. Retool, do not Rebuild. F'ng bad
6) Flames: 14/15 was the start of a pretty good 6 year run. It may be over. They need to retool. Offense has dried up. Defense and goal-tending is at best average. Next coach up please.
9) Sens: Let's hope they have better luck with Rebuild versus Retool.

Edmonton seems to be improving. Better goaltending and defense were necessary, and that seems to getting better.

ya jets, Edm and Tor will be at the top it seems

a cut above the rest

People are overreacting for Montreal here. I still think they finish 2nd in the division and then probably the Jets finish 3rd.

I'm enjoying the division, most of the games are fun. Definitely a offence over defence division lol.

Most of the division is average to good. Sens miss playing some of the other toilet bowl teams such as Detroit.

Jets never re-tooled, they lost their backend and are using their prospects.

Quite a poor evaluation of every team.

Perhaps but they were winning with Toffili scoring at a 70+ goall pace and anderson was on like 100 point pace. That aint going to happen.
I see Toronto and Edmonton as the two top teams by a fair amount.

Leafs are easily the best team in the North. So far they don't really have any glaring weaknesses. Until we develop and improve in every aspect, we're far far behind them.

Edmonton is a 2 man team that has no business winning 4 games in a 7 game series against MTL or Toronto. There has to be a limit to riding two beasts. At least Pittsburgh had some semblance of contributions from the rest of their team and in net during their back to back runs.

MTL, another hot start that seems to fizzle out. Having said that I think they have the depth to take on every other team in the North.

Winnipeg has poor defensive depth but their top line can compete with any other top line in the North. I feel their success depends on Dubois going nuts to keep the scoring high.

Calgary lives and dies by how Monahan and Gaudreau play. I don't think those guys can be the main offensive stars and the team seems to be tired of Tkachuk's crap. They have a nice defensive core but their forwards just don't seem to be able to pull it off.

Vancouver is feeling the effects of losing pretty much the best defensive guy in the league in Tanev. Their defense is a bigger joke than ours.

The north sucks lol

Yea obviously some of their players were performing above what they'll actually provide at the end of the season but it's not fair to look at that and then not look at all their underperforming players.

Tatar hasn't performed up to par, Danault has been playing way below his usual quality of play, Price has been very average at best, Weber has been much worse than in the playoffs as well. Gallagher hasn't looked even close to what he's been bringing on a yearly basis either.

All I'm saying is people are acting like their suddenly trash after a tough stretch isn't indicative of anything just like their hot start wasn't sustainable. They have good pieces and the guys they've added have been pulling their share, they just need more from guys who have proved they can give way more than what they've had thus far.

only 10 points out of a playoff spot! We should go for it

I don’t think Ottawa is that far from being a top 4 team in the division. I’d say right now we are close.

replay the start of the season with how the team is playing now - redo the first 10 games - and we would be better then 7th without a doubt and I think a top 4 team (in 4th place)

Montreal is overrated and Winnipeg is underrated

We're going to win our way out of the top 3 pick...

You heard it here first

Meh, if we do then that means Stutzle, Tkachuk, Norris, Batherson, Brannstrom, Zub, Murray/Hogberg and probably L.Brown/Formenton(they'll be called up with Stepan and the like traded soon) took serious strides in their game.

That to us is way more valuable than a top 3 pick in a so-so draft because it also means the value of our young guys seriously increased and we could use that in big trade for a legitimate star available(if we wished to pursue it).

I'm fine with it. This was a developmental year, I was expecting and hoping for a 8th-15th overall pick which means our young guys carried the load in a no-rebuilding team division(except us).

Prospect of a top 3 pick was a good safety net if something went haywire, which few things have so far.

The team that's far and away the best team in the division isn't even a top 10 team in the league. This is the weakest division by far.

The West has 3 good teams and 5 terrible teams.
The Central has 4 bad teams
The East is good but has 1 really good team and many middling teams
The North has 2 good teams 3 middling teams and 2 bad teams.

If you don’t think the leafs are a top 10 team you are nuts. I hate them but they and Winnipeg are very good teams.

The Leafs are a top 5 team in the league and they’re probably not 5 or 4.

I wrote a long post, but it disappeared. I'm not going to write it all out again, but it boiled down to this:

I think Carolina, Tampa Bay, Dallas, Boston, Washington, Isles, Flyers, Vegas, Blues, and the Avalanche are better. I have every one of those teams as favourites going into a even game series against the leafs. This shouldn't be major news. Toronto lost depth and shuffled chairs on defense after finishing 13th last season. Toronto is VERY comfortably 11th in my ranking though.

The North division is made up of one playoff lock and a bunch of bubble teams + Ottawa. The normal Pacific division is the weakest in the league, and three of the teams from this division are in the North. Atlantic is the second weakest division in the league, and we have three more teams from there in the North. None of those six teams were tops in those divisions.

oh bladi blada

Just a test folks..Hf Boards has been screwy.

At one time, I got Tunoc's account
