There are plenty players from Europe, they should actually play in leagues like WHL, OHL or QMJHL (plus USHL). What will they do after WCH? Will they come back to Europe or will they travel to their junior teams?

It's possible some will, but there's also a fairly large amount of uncertainty around CHL seasons. I'd guess the majority of players who have a good situation to go back to in Europe will go there.

My guess is the majority of them return to Europe. I live in the maritimes where we’ve been lucky enough to have some qmjhl action (although they’ve been on break for a bit now) and there was issues getting any non-Canadian players into the country. Both the European imports as well as United States players. I want to say it was an issue with getting visas arranged for them

I'm hoping Broberg stays in Edmonton after tourney, attends training camp and then returns to SEL. Same with Hallowoy from Canada. I'm also hoping some of the higher end Czech guys can stay and go to CHL or AHL (Mysak, Pytlik, Teply)

Good question. The Swiss roster has a few guys with CHL contracts especially in the QMJHL. I however doubt that they will stick in NA after the tournament. In Switzerland they are at least able to play some games right now, wich is not guaranteed in NA as the governments there have been more restrictive when it comes to junior sporting events.

Highly unlikely for Holloway. NCAA guys would have to sign and forfeit their scholarship to attend a main training camp.

But now they all will be tested day after day. That could do something.
I don’t think it will. If my recollection of visa issues being a primary cause for those with CHL teams to play for, being constantly tested will not change anything. It had something to do with the teams not considering their players employees. That’s coming back to haunt them...

This is exactly why they WONT return to Europe, as that would be silly

There are confirmations in and around the QMJHL that paperwork for most of the league's Europeans that are playing in the WJC are done and the players will report to their team in January, after the tournament.

It has been so hard getting these players into the country, so now that they are in for the tournament, they will keep them here. They will NOT return to Europe as that would be a nightmare trying to get them to cross the borders again to come back.

Do you have sources/articles on this? I would love to see the players stay but I think they would run into issues about being here illegally.

They are not here illegally if the paperwork is done

I have seen it reported by writers on twitter and fans on various message boards.

It would be silly to let them leave for Europe after the tournament
