Yeah, they're fifth with a couple of games in hand, but under teams they should not be under, like Bologna and Juventus (who were so happy with their coach they ran him out of town after winning the cup against the same Atalanta). And the reason they had to go on this kind of streak is that they started the season badly and spent most of the year 8th or lower.

Bologna have played much better than Atalanta all year long, they deserve their position. Whatever one might think, Juventus is a stronger team than Atalanta. Allegri was sent away for what he did after the final, not because he did badly this year. Because he hasn't done badly this year.

No Wirtz? No Xhaka?
Wirtz was invisible and on a yellow, Xhaka was their worst midfielder and the second Atalanta goal is on him. Some of the stars look like they're still out partying. I'd take Tah off too, he looks like he's been binging McDonald's for the last week.

What a disgraceful performance. I guess people need to pump the brakes on Alonso being the next great manager. His club just got exposed IMO. All those late game heroics, all those lucky last second comebacks….they thought it would work again here and failed miserably. Bad look for the bundesliga in general. Rarely ever will you see an entire season completely tarnished/ruined by one single match like this. Ugly, UGLY loss.

Happy for Scamacca too. He always seemed like a good dude at West Ham, just unlucky with injuries and playing under a manager that played to none of his strengths. Would have loved to have kept him.

Ultimately a coach can't force his players to want to win. There's clearly no hunger left in this team and that's what it is then, a couple of motivational speeches can only do so much.

you guys really hard a remarkable knack for wasting extremely tall but actually extremely cultured strikers under moyes, between him and Haller. a real shame, he'd prob look real good under a real coach surrounded by Kudus, Paqueta, and Bowen.

This doesn't tarnish the image of the Bundesliga or Alonso jfc.

But of course you pop your head back up once something bad happens to a German club. Like (cuckoo) clockwork

and another year goes by with no team ever having had an undefeated continental treble

2010-11 porto remains the closest. a treble with 3 losses in all comps (all three coming in two leg ties to benfica, sevilla, and villarreal)
