ESPN+ Sucks!

Gary really screwed up with this ESPN garbage! NHL.tv was a great product. It was well organized and was all about hockey. I did not have to wade through 20 clicks of garbage sports and content that I don't give a shit about. The ESPN+ interface is so clunky and cluttered it is just hot stinky garbage!

Being able to choose my teams to follow and set my favorite so it always goes to that homepage was great. I could watch any game when I wanted to, choose which stream I wanted, or go back years and watch old games was phenomenal! The streams had markers in them for period starts and goals etc. The "on demand" games don't even have the full list of games that were played that day so I guess that means you won't get to watch "ALL" out of market games, but only some.

I really think this sucks as we want to grow this sport, not make it harder to watch games! I cut the cord years ago and refuse to give a shit if TV stations/networks and cable companies get their cut. Bring back the ability to stream the games I want when I want damn it!:(

I don't disagree with that and ya there will be growing pains, but do you really think ESPN will fix that garbage app? No, this is what we are going to be stuck with. There needs to be a way to filter out all other sports content. I don't give a shit about UFC or NFL or NBA or soccer any of the other garbage sports on there. At least let me set a home page to the NHL and hide everything else. Let me follow my teams and see the schedule and click in to watch those games. Show all streams for all games and let me watch them when I want to watch them like it used to be. This is so damn irritating it is just a step backwards.

I mean, the app is kind of ESPN's focus at this point given the "streaming wars." I understand frustrations that it's not just a hockey app, but it, along with Disney+ and Hulu, is a huge part of The Mouse's plans moving forward.

Stream quality was great. I used my Hotspot and Roku and it was A+. Also way cheaper than gamecenter.

Don't give a shit about filtering other sports. Care about the quality of the stream. If we can filter to only hockey that means other sports fans would be able to filter hockey out as well. We need the exposure. You act like you have to navigate through gossip girls and SpongeBob to find the hockey games. It's a sports app. Pull your panties out of a bunch and be happy with it.

ESPN+ and Hulu streaming (not live TV) comes with Verizon unlimited. Im able to see all the ESPN+ programs inside Hulu. And you can filter that out by Hockey. Its an easy click for me. If you have both, and they are linked. Use Hulu.

ESPN+ is dirt cheap and gets all the games + more. Way better imo

I'd also assume more people have ESPN+ than NHL.tv. If I was trying to get into hockey, I wouldn't pay for NHL.tv lol, so tough to see how that's better for growing the game

NHL.tv was $140/year for all teams, all games...ESPN+ is $70/year for yet unknown games. How is $70 for the year a lot of money? Especially when you factor in how the NHL app was logically organized with a calendar view that lets you easily see the games by date and choose which one to watch. And on top of that choose which stream you want. The ESPN+ app is just horrible....there is no logical flow to it and I personally just can't fathom how anyone can like it.

I have Hulu no add, Disney+, and ESPN+. When you view though the Hulu app it is even worse as you can't filter on NHL. Please explain what you are doing as maybe I'm am just missing it. Thanks!

Yet unknown games? They already announced they will broadcast all games once the regular season begins.

The only language I have seen is 1,000 out of market games. I have not seen any press that says ALL out of market games. Besides with NHL.tv I could go back and watch games back to 2015 if I wanted. With ESPN is looks like it might be gone after 24 hours. Some times I might not be able catch the game live and want to watch later. This all just feels like we are loosing so much and gaining nothing.

I don't know, I'm really enjoying having a close to equivalent to center ice on something I was already paying for and being able to watch it in Hulu.

I mean I know it is pre-season and all, but I am sitting at my computer watching the Pens UPMC stream because this game is not on the ESPN app when pre-season games were always on NHL.tv. I guess we will see how it goes. :skeptic:

NHL.TV was dogshit OP. I literally cancelled it and used illegal streams online with better quality.

I don't care if you talk shit about ESPN, but saying NHL.TV was good is a lie.

Saying NHL.tv was dogshit is a lie. It started out a bit rough, but got better and better. I rarely had issues with it and when I did a quick uninstall and reinstall fixed all of those issues. Games looked pretty damn good running at 60FPS. To each his own I guess.

Didn’t even realize my NHL.TV wasn’t a thing anymore for the Bruins until I tried to watch yesterday’s game and it kept pushing me to ESPN+. Which of course the game was not on, so not sure what I’ll do for Bruins games this season.

Wait, are games really not able to be viewed after 24 hours? If I can't at least watch games from the current season any time I want during the season, that's a complete deal breaker for me.

I'm a west coast fan of an east coast team. It's very common that I'm not watching games live, but catching up on them after.

I miss hockeystreams.

Open google and search "Github NHL"

This software is legal to download and run. It's a container to grab urls and submit them to MPV player, which is then your responsibility
