Cale Makar yesterday. Seriously though. Think go have to go with the younger guy. Plus Karlsonn last couple years has been meh.

A bit surprised to see the big lead for Dahlin even though injuries and contracts are disregarded.

It depends on teams situation. For this year only - I think EK has the higher ceiling/potential but also the lower floor.

If my team is quite far from cup contention and needs a big x factor for a chance, Id pick EK. If it works - great, and if it doesn't, well we likely weren't winning anyways.

If i already have a great team and defense and just want to add to it - id go Dahlin. Can still be really great, and less risk he reverts back to being bad

this is easily Karlsson if we're ignoring injuries

even right now they're clearly still affecting him

Surprised that you are surprised as the thread is for right now meaning this season one would think.

EK have points on 15/29 Sharks goals. Dahlin 14/43. Sabres are a better team so what EK is doing right now is more impressive.

Wow points on 52% of team scoring as a D-man is pretty unheard of.

I don’t know what’s up with Karlsson but in the games I’ve watched he’s been absolutely possessed. Dangerous almost every time he touches the puck. Wonder if he will keep it up.

He's shooting over 28% right now, have to imagine that falls back down to earth a bit considering he's around 7% for his career with a high of 8.5%. Same can be said of Dahlin as well, shooting 16% currently so I expect that number to fall back to 6 or 7% as the season wears on.

Shooting % might come down but at the other hand his team mates might start scoring more so he gets more assists. If he keeps his play up to his current level then he should easily be ppg this season.

That's not what they meant.

We have a lot of EN goals, not sure how many of Dahlin’s points are from them though.

How is EK defensively this season?

Dahlin also has a bit of a pest/physical presence.

Idk about Dahlin. He is only 22 and improving still. Shot seems better and we know he has all the skill in the world to be able to use it.

Defensemen don’t sustain shooting percentages that high. It just doesn’t happen. He could maybe do 10-12% in a big year, but even that’s rare

I would go with EK, because I feel like his last couple playoffs were very solid considering he wasn't 100% healthy either time.

Gut feeling that if he suddenly played for a playoff team, you could feel the excitement and he'd wanna shut everybody up and show his experience at the right time.

Dahlin might look like a young player still in his first playoff run.

It's a 12 game run, I'd be surprised if EK didn't ahve a 12 game run like that in Ottawa at some point and maybe another Dman or 2 since the lockout but it also won't last.

That being said it's a good thing to see as there isn't alot going right in San Jose right now.

Ok Karlsson is possessed. Something is just uncanny with this. Sometimes it feels like Lemieux is back or something. A player who can just create goals at will.
