Flyers just recently signed Erik Gustafsson to an entry level contract. His scouting report is makes him sound similar to Kimmo Timonen.

A somewhat undersized defenseman (5'11) that plays a strong two-way game. Gustafsson is a very mobile player, with good acceleration and top speed. He handles the puck with ease and has above average hockey sense. Offensively, he stands out with his passes and coolness, defensively, he has good timing and solves tricky situations with his on-ice-vision. Very good attitude.

In his first 2 games with the Phantoms he's had 1 goal and 3 assists. I'm very interested if anyone knows anything solid about this guy? Seems to me like he could be a steal and turn into a solid NHL D man.

i first saw him 2 years ago, on a replay some random night of a NMU game, and was immediately impressed with his slick play (his freshman season). ever since that night I've made it a point to check the schedule for NMU games just to watch him. the description above is pretty spot on. his offensive instincts are just great (versus NCAA opponents at least over the last 3 years), and I believe defensively he's just OK. a mini Timonen maybe, at least offensively. he's not Slaney or elmore on the D end but I think he needs some work there. he's not a lightning fast skater for a guy of small stature but he's adequate.

Ha I'm gonna take it as no one knows much about him.

Ì almost selected this kid for a mock draft. I read a couple of article. This kid is very solid and he could the missing link for the flyers. He's like Gunnerson for Toronto.

Watched him prolly 6 times while he played for NMU. Very good offensive defenseman

All i know is that he left Timrå for North America. The team had a few other defencemen that was very promising and it seems like he didn't get enough icetime or something like that.

Anyways i wish him the best of luck.
