Have no issues with the move. Keep him on the 3rd pair and if our young guys don’t perform play him in the top 4 and we’ll get another lottery pick

Well .... looks like management is quite serious about protecting their young players. Likely a 7th D for certain situations, I would think J. Brown is ahead of him, but all of a sudden Ottawa has a lot of RDs, seems like over kill. I wonder where Zub fits in here given he has never played in NA before? Another weird & wacky move by a weird & wacky GM. Maybe they trade him or them at the deadline & get their pick back?
We aren't paying 3 mil in cah and a 5th round pick for a 7th d. Look for him to pick up whwre Hainsey left off.

He will be there as a mentor, and playing top 4 mins or 5th d at the worst.

Why? Because hes from Ottawa

Pierre, you're drunk.

Hes not very good. Why not just re-sign Demlo?

DeMelo just signed a four year deal. Gudbranson has 1 year left on his contract. No doubt DeMelo is the better player but where does he fit in moving forward.

3M wasted on another bad D.

Now spending 10M on Zaitsev, Gudbranson, Reilly and Brown - and all of them suck.

Could have acquired Nutivaara for nothing. Way better, cheaper and younger than Gudbranson.

Ducks fan here. Gudbranson gets a bad rap, but he’s a fine player and a great teammate. He’s huge, and a surprisingly good skater for his size. He’s decent at moving the puck, but he tends to panic a bit if he’s stationary with the puck on his stick in his own zone. That’s when he can throw possession away. But the guy works hard, defends teammates, and isn’t as big of a liability as you might think, even if he is overpaid.
