They threw out a fan rather than just confiscate the horn? I mean I’m happy they didn’t let the horn in but that’s surprising.
The fan wouldn’t give it up and was belligerent. He made a big scene about it and posted it to Facebook. He was told to stop blowing it and refused to comply.

So he wasn't escorted out for bringing one in.

Hey All, My wife has a dream to do all the OHL arenas. We are making the trip down to erie for the generals game on the 17th. Any recommendations on places to eat local joints or bars? I don't think i can survive another cracker barrel dinner. Also best area to sit?

thanks
you should try a place called -u pick 6 Tap House -333 State st in Erie ..great place with better than average food from our experiences -and walking distance to the game

Luckily he returned. It was crazy that the two times our guys were boarded, nothing was called. A win is a win. Likely an off day tomorrow and come back Monday for Barrie.

Last night proves we have a sleeper team. Our offense CAN carry the team on occasion. What that means for the playoffs is anyone's guess.

We could be playing hot and get a first round win, or our offense could fall flat and we won't really have the goalie play to keep us in those super tight games.

The team looks promising if they peak at the correct time.

Dylan Grover is backing up Burns tonight. Gibbons out. Flu possibly. Grover has been playing in the GOJHL. He's briefly played with Sarnia in the past, so he may be on loan from them. Gibbons was an emergency loan last season with Hamilton or Missy.

What's Gaudreau's status? LTIR?🤔

Is there anything to see in Fimis in terms of a late round, overage draft pick or is he more likely to be a USport player following his OHL career?

I believe he attended the Penguins' rookie camp last summer.
That's a tough group to separate IMO...

Sova and Misiak hold the most value and Pano is really coming of age here.

Alfano, McDonald, and Smith are more 3rd line guys IMO. I don't know if you'd get the return needed out of any of these 3 to get a decent defender or net minder without disrupting the offense.

I think it is safe to say through this point in the season Roysten, Hammond, Toroptsev, and Messier can't replace a Smith, McDonald, or Alfano so getting rid of any of those 3 is a step backwards to MAYBE move forward?

We have a pretty bare cupboard in picks, but I wouldn't put it past DB to move a middle person and some picks for an upgrade, kind of how they envisioned Daviault to compliment Sova when we shipped out Kyrou.

Edit: I'd also like to add moving Johnston pretty much removes the entire enforcement aspect of our back line, what little there is right now. He's the only one back there willing to throw his body around and protect teammates IMO.

Curious why he didn’t make the opening roster if he could have provided anything remotely close to this..

That’s what you get with SB tho, an over reliance on size over skill and it was part of the many reasons I had hesitation with the hire. But I guess we can view it as a “free” deadline aquisition

Just trying to understand the CHL eligibility rules. Henry is listed as being from Montreal on Eliteprospects.com and played in Quebec before going to Bishop Kearney.

How did he wind up playing in Erie?

He played his draft year (21-22) in the GTHL which is where league eligibility is determined - regardless of where he is born. Even had he played with Bishop Kearney in his draft year, New York still falls under the OHL's American region so he'd still be OHL eligible. Here's the American state breakdown (from Wiki)

Thanks. Was aware that the Atlantic District, including NY, was OHL territory. Missed that he played junior in Ottawa.

The Q doesn't even try to recruit Americans anymore. Outside of the big guns in the Ramparts and Mooseheads, no one really is able to pull guys away from the NCAA in New England. Doesn't help that they haven't had an American team for over a decade.

This team is trying really hard to not make any jump in the standings.

I wanna know what's up with Daviault lately. He got another USC last night. That comes after about a week ago he got one for biting an opponent. That's just straight up losing your cool/head.

These guys are starting to beat themselves instead of losing games.

The Sting honored Ben Gaudreau before the game. :thumbu:
I don’t think we’ve had a nicer kid come into our building. I’m curious to know if Ben has his own table set up in the concourse because that’s the type of person Ben is.

Sarnia is one of the best building I’ve been in. Earlier this season they looked forward to his return.
