Every time I see Lewis play he looks like absolute trash.

Looks alright on the ball, but complete lost off of it.
Pep trying to force youth in the lineup? Lewis looked lost for England as well.
I have a hunch that City's academy likely fixates on the technical, on-the-ball, build-up proficiency of defenders, rather than on defensive positioning - based on the notion that "every defender should be able to be a 6." Lewis looks wayward defensively but is tidy in possession, Eric Garcia is brutal defensively but tidy in possession, etc. Seems possible to me that they're letting the philosophy of "your youth teams should play like your first team does" over-inflect their player development.

Even when his team is in possession he looks lost. Like he doesn’t know where to go unless the ball is physically at his feet or there’s a very obvious run to make.

Good point. Ball playing is more important and if the kid doesn’t figure it out defensively well that’s on him.

Sure could use Palmer right now. Foden is nonexistent

spurs are just moving around freely in the midfield. They’re doing as they please.

I’d give that a red to Silva, wouldn’t have no issue with it
