Eller will be seeing lots of time in the top six and PP this season sharing the center icetime between DD and himself while Plekanec will still be the shutdown center against the oppositions top line.

Nor could Desharnais play the Wing, too small and weak along the boards and no where near the speed required as a small wing!

As much as I LOVE Plekanec, I think he's the odd man out here. Only because of Desharnais lack of being able to play anything but in a offensive role. Eller is a poor man's Plekanec (Could play third line C and be moved up if required)

Proposed Deal to Colorado

Plekanec Bourque and Moen for O'Reilly and 3rd(signed long term of course) other small pieces going either way to balance the trade out as required but I'd say that's a strong trade for both teams. Colorado gets it's third line C, PK specialist who will produce points as well and gets rid of their cancer in the club house right now.

i honestly don't think we can have a fertile discussion unless we look at all our Centers.
We have to focus particularly on AG TP and MM. Why it always boils down to Eller/DD is beyond me.
They are paid by The Club to execute completely different roles. I like and have always liked Eller. Just as I currently like and will probably always like Sekac. They are exactly the types of players I want to surround myself with for the rigors of the post season. The beep test gives us a good clue as to why.
Neither is looked upon nor should they be looked upon to drive our offence. I completely reject the idea that either Eller or DD is a winger. The fly in the ointment is AG the boss wants him playing up the middle it might not be unreasonable to think that size plays into this desire particularly if you look at Plecky/DD as your lead combo. Essentially what we need to be looking at is an idea for AG and DD.
I love Lars but i don't particularly need him to drive my offence nor if I'm honest do i want him to.
He plays a very strong north south type of game and his vision is trained that way. Sure I'd like to see him get more PP time and better wingers but if the other lines are playing well I'm good. We have a great many fans who love what DD brings in the way of playmaking. Unfortunately for him the Boss doesn't seem pleased with the body of work the DD/Plecky combo provides. Eller on the other hand got a raise and 4yrs...
We need to come up with AG/DD/TP/LE/MM ideas.
The first being MM can wing it some nights?
