Thought he played a quality 2 way game last night. Didn't factor in any offence but his line did a good job defensively and at getting pucks deep.

Miller got the Barkov assignment so not surprising.

They used the D pretty evenly outside of that other than they definitely tried to keep Forbort away from the Panthers top line and threw Hughes in to replace him with Friedman for a bunch of shifts.

Will be interesting as Debrusk Sherwood gives them better 5v5 defensive and match up presence than Kuzmenko Mikhayev or Hoglander Mikhayev. Especially if Hoglander stays with Miller/Boeser

EP got Bennett-Tkachuk. It's pick your poison against the Panthers really. QH's presence is a massive, massive difference.

Verhaeghe-Barkov-Reinhart is far and away their best line. Reinhart is better than Tkachuk and Barkov is way better than Bennett. Verhaeghe is also better than Rodrigues.

There's a reason why Tocchet pairs Miller with Hughes and it's because he wants to shut down the opponent's best line while also being a threat to score on them.

In theory, Pettersson should be able to fill that role equally as well, but Tocchet seems to trust Miller to do that job better, even after Pettersson played quite well in Miller's absence.

The best thing Pettersson has done so far this season is shut down his social media accounts......the mainstream press you can deal with.......but the on-line trolls, hackers and mean-streeters, you can do without. And unfortunately in a lot of Canadian markets, they're ever present.
Jack, when you say mean-streeter, are you 84 years old?

That attitude is weak AF and the number 1 exhibit as why fans have no right to complain if players don't want to re-sign here.

Fans need to be better.
Fans are chanting EP’s name at games after he had like 1 ES goal in 40 games and was the main reason we didn’t go further in the playoffs last season.

Jack is not real.

Jack is not real.
The main reason? I thought it was because we were down to our 3rd string goalie and our system didnt, and still doesnt, generate scoring chances.

The Miller/EP discussion yesterday on social media is honestly toxic as hell.

Also, why is EP the one getting all the hates when he’s been well over the PPG during the stretch where team was missing a bunch of key players. Meanwhile, Miller who disappeared for a month for unknown reason is getting all the benefits of the doubt?

Some fans are seriously hopeless

he's had 6 ESG in 60 GP since signing a massive contract. Despite the 10 game stretch where he produced more offence, he's 7th on the team in ES goal scoring, tied tied with Heinen and Blueger.

When you're paid to produce and you don't, people are going to talk about it.

You are missing the point

I’m talking about this past month where he’s been night and night out the best forward while being hyper focused by opponent’s top line on the road

But the reason he isn't producing might be personal!

if you're trying to figure out where the "hate" comes from - IMO it's more frustration - you have to look beyond a 15 game stretch. Some may actually see the stretch as an indicator that his issue isn't mostly injury related and question where this has been.

And then look at Millers first game back. Pettersson was horrible.

Its not rocket science.

Miller played 2x the minutes with QH that EP did.

??

He was the opposite of horrible, it’s not all about box score

I’m tired of arguing over EP vs Miller

If anyone actually believes this team is better off without him, believe what you believe. Unicorn could be real too

His line was caved in despite mostly being away from Barkov or the Panthers top pair

so why did you bring it up?

Im sure you are well aware that the Panthers have a fantastic 2nd line too.

And that playing away from Quinn Hughes on the Canucks roster means you are going to be caved in most of the game.
It's not like he gets no time with Hughes (4:21 vs Panthers)......and If you're paid like a franchise player and don't play like a franchise player, people will point it out.

I think you're going to have a hard time convincing anyone who watched the game that he was bad, let alone horrible. If he ends up in Selke consideration, this was a game you'd give as an example to show why.
