Ekblad hit on Hagel - suspended 2 games

Seems like an overreaction to me.

There's no elbow.

He sees him and puts his arm up to brace himself.

Two to four minute penalty, but no suspension.

Yeah. I don't see any intent there other than Ekblad being a lot bigger and gets him high because of that. Arms tucked in. Should've been a penalty but the way Tampa is playing on PP it's a detriment and would've been fine from our POV.

Throw dirty hits and then get upset when they come back your way. That's rich.
Ah yes because the Panthers haven't been running our players from the first minute of this series.

What Mikkola did was even more disgusting. You don't hit a player to the numbers who's kneeled at the boards. Complete disregard for the safety of another player.

Im not sure if its suspension worthy but hard to have any faith as they cant even get the calls on the ice right

Its been brutal in almost every series. From flopping to missed calls to flat out, im watching but im not going to call it cause, well, i have reasons apparently

Is it worse than any other playoffs im not sure as we have short memories

how many games would ekblad get? he just came back from suspension. would it be 40 games because of that? or PED suspension doesn't count as repeat offender?

Ref standing there with a clear line of sight 10 feet away just reinforces the shit job they're doing in the playoffs.

Call the game consistently from regular season to playoffs and throughout the games into OT and players know what to expect.

Curious if there's a review of refs post games and consequences for shit performance?

The PED suspension doesn't count when considering a player as a "repeat offender" for the purposes of supplementary discipline. I also believe that suspensions are effectively "expunged" after something like 18 months when looking at whether or not a player is considered a repeat offender for on-ice disciplinary reasons, but assuming it's 18 months, I don't imagine that a player being considered for a suspension is really in the clear if his last suspension was 19 months ago (or so), considering the human bias of DOPS.
