Top of the line 2C that should be making 8 in your view is a good price for that role??? Even at 7 mil he should be #1 center on most teams. Toronto made a big mistake adding him, when they knew Matthews was their future #1 C. Second line centers shouldn't be making more than 5-6 tops.

You think Darnell Nurse is a friggen 4D? He's overpaid but certainly a top pairing defender. And yeah he's looked terrible because he's injured and will need surgery in the off-season.

Kadri isn't really a good example, here. He's a #2C and will get $7M, sure... But not many #2C's pace 100 points in a contract year.

Edmonton needs to sign 8 players (to reach a 23 player roster) with $7.1 m of cap space. So, this proposal makes their cap situation even tougher.

And, not sure pajama boy would waive his NMC. Plus, I'd think the Oilers main focus would be on goaltenders.

As noted he has control and believes he left money on the table to be a Leaf. A delicate subject even if he wasn't our Captain.

Nurse is great but isn't a need and comes in above Rielly. He would be our 2LD at 9 mil and it forces other trades. Obviously can't trade Gio. So now one of Muzzin and Sandin has to be Rhd and the other gone along with Holl who we already have to trade.

Maybe slightly better for the Oil in some ways, especially when you see how much money JT has been already paid, but creates a hole and surplus in just the same way but opposite positions.

Fully healthy, Nurse is absolutely a top pairing D, not worth 9.25m but still a top pairing defenceman. Tavares would be a 3c in Edmonton, a 3c making 11m (laughable). Drai has also exclusively centered his own line all season before he got hurt against the Kings and is now playing wing. This trade makes 0 sense for both teams frankly.

Because it's practically a troll thread? In what way does any of this make sense? You want Tavares to be an 11M 3rd line C for Edmonton. Why would the Leafs go for a 9.5M Dman FOR 8 YEARS who isn't better than any of our current LD in Rielly, Gio, Muzzin and plays like trash?
