Regret to inform you that long time HFNHL GM Drew Niece has stepped down as the general manager of the Edmonton Oilers. This was Drew's second stint in the HFNHL after previously being a part of the admin team and leading the Detroit Red Wings. Drew then passed the torch to his son Zac, stepping aside from the league for a time. A few years ago he returned as the Edmonton GM. Due to time constraints, Drew is leaving us again, although he has said that he will continue to help Zac in an AGM role.

Want to wish Drew all the best in his future endeavours.

Stay tuned soon for an announcement about a new Edmonton GM.

Sorry to see Drew move on from his role with the Oilers, but it's understandable. I met Drew in a 2010 HFNHL get-together in Toronto and it was a pleasure.

Good luck Chris and welcome to the HFNHL!
