Jake Allen's caphit is 2.875M. Now that his injuries are behind him he is putting out some good showings. If that lasts to the end of season, then i see GMs with interest given his caphit and 1 year term remaining.

This is terrible. Allen at 4x4.5 is a cap dump. Dvorak is approaching that territory, and Drouin is grossly overpaid and has only 1 year left. So, we get another problem in the crease, lose depth on the blueline, add cap space that we can't afford and middling talent to a position of strength, and for all of that, we only give you a first round pick and one of the top prospects in the league?

Allen next contract shouldn't be more pricey than his current one.

Also, Edmonton can do better for that price.

Edmonton can't afford those cap hits let alone be giving up those assets. Also, no way in hell Keith waives to go out East, there is a reason he's in Edmonton.

At the upcoming draft: Jake Allen extended (4.5 x 4) + Jo Drouin or Christian Dvorak

To Montreal: EDM 1ST + Xavier Bourgault + Duncan Keith (Cap dump)

The equivalent of two firsts and an overpaid but still serviceable defenseman, from a team with a lot of defensive holes, for a back up (signed to an inflated extension) and one of two guys that aren't worth a 1st by themselves.

This takes nothing into account for what Edmonton needs and gives a massive overpayment to the Habs for pieces they don't want or need anymore. Gee, how does Holland say no?

For the time being I think everyone knows the Oilers and the Habs aren't good trading partners.

No thanks.

We’re not paying to get rid of Keith, as I’m fairly certain he’ll retire after this shit show of a season. He only gets paid 1.5 mil next year, and has made 70+ mil in his career and has 3 cups, 2 Norris trophies and a Conn Smythe to his name. He probably saw McDavid and Draisaitl and thought he could be a piece to the puzzle to put the Oil over the top, but alas, he’s playing a role in a flawed team remaining flawed. Why would he want to come back at 39 years old?

As for the rest of the proposal, I would entertain the idea of Allen if we struck out elsewhere, but not extended and certainly not at the expense of Borgault or our 1st, let alone both. And no interest in Dvorak or Drouin.

Much rather try and sign Husso.

lol the Oilers are just getting out from under the horrible Koskinen contract and you think the Oilers will pay a first and a former first rounder picked last year to be able to replay that same shit again.

I swear to god if I see one more Jake Allen to Edmonton proposal from Habs fans I will kidnap the guy and ship him to Mongolia to play in their hockey league at gunpoint.

Stop. Stopppppp with Allen to Edmonton. We don’t want him. We’re not giving up blue chip assets for him. We have no use for him because he’s not good enough to be a 1A and that’s what we need.

Two f***ing firsts for Allen and Drouin/Dvorak, you are out of your mind, OP.
