Oh boy this was rough. Goaltending was fine (not better than the other guy though) but the big guns were totally silent. Turnovers, sloppy passes, shots nowhere near the net.

Kovalenko was easily the team’s best player. Probably not gonna win many when that’s the case.
Tonight might be the only game all season where Georgiev wasn't the issue on any of the goals.

This game was honestly worse than the snoozefest against LA.

The top guys just looked gassed. Bednar needs to stop playing them into the ground. I'm back on my Fire Bednar bandwagon. His shelf life has come to an end. But more importantly, Bennett, and Pratt shelf life is way past expiration. They're molding on the floor and gooing everywhere.

Bednar’s only has three strategies, 1) play the top guys a lot, 2) ask everyone to play harder, 3) blender

I truly think bednar is a good coach, but they just need a new voice at this point. I get this is likely not a stanley cup winning team but they can’t just throw away years. It’s time to get someone else in there and hope for a good old coaching bump.

We'll tonight we got getting a lovely 2023-24 version of Mikko Rantanen.... awesome.

Sorry guys but I have trouble believing that MacKinnon can go from 33 pts in 17 games for a whopping 1.94 ppg to 3 pts in his last 8 games for 0.375 ppg since the very day that nuke returned from suspension. I don't think he forgot how to play hockey but he tends to play like this when there's a guy in the locker room that just shouldn't be there.

It was pretty much the same thing when Duchene was still here and once we dumped him - Nate took off. I'm not saying it's great, just that's what seems to be happening.

I think Mack is just not going to let Nuke f*** us over a 3rd time in a row... if he keeps producing like Tyler Arnason, we won't even make the playoffs.

The body language of this team is awful and changes have to be made asap. Start with moving #13 so you get back your $12M dollar center producing like he can because if he doesn't, we're screwed anyways.

Time to start talking about a few things.

1. New coach
2. New GM
3. A captain that plays hockey vs a mythical entity that played 3 years ago
Yeah - Captain is needed here. Love Mack but don’t see his leadership. At pro level I think coach is important but hockey-player leader is a must too.

On a side note. How useful has Drouin been?

The need a captain too. This Landeskog saga got old a year ago. I get he gave a lot for the Avs to win a cup but it’s getting f***ing ridiculous at this point. I also think there is zero chance that nuke coming back and mackinnons game falling off a cliff is unrelated.

Problem is the Avs genuinely have no captain worthy players.

MacKinnon? Too in his own head and psychopathic towards others.

Rantanen? Will kill his goalie if given the ok.

Makar? Defers to MacKinnon nightly and gets yelled at by him for not-perfect one timer passes.

Lehkonen? Too quiet.

Toews? Not a guy who brings it nightly for a team to follow into battle.

This team IS Landeskog's to lead.

Then fire one of the coaches, ltir him and make him an assistant coach. Lando isn’t coming back in any meaningful way. Even if he can we are headed towards the third year since he played last. It’s a distraction and unnecessarily so.
