I have noticed there is such an extreme disconnect between the Avs defending strategy and the Avs breakout strategy.

It is SO strange to me how the Avs coaches ask their wingers to collapse and protect the slot while giving point men so much room, yet whenever our defensemen gather pucks in corners or behind the net they whip it around the boards as CDH just did only to find nobody there and giving the puck right back to their point man.

It has bothered me for years since Bednar took over and it just cost the Avs a goal. It is maddening.
