I am so excited to see the Oilers do nothing at the deadline and then proclaim their big deadline acquisitions were Dermott, Savoie being called up and a returning Evander Kane. So excited...

FYI, Bakersfield has been running with five(and sometimes even six) right-handed defensemen on the roster this year.

He's likely heading down there.

I can't see the Oilers not doing something much bigger, and probably more stupid at the deadline. Even their "braintrust" has gotta realize they're in "go all in" territory right now, full on.

But in the meantime...things are pretty dire when Dermott passes for "defensive help".

For those interested, this cost Edmonton $13,125, paid to Minnesota and not counted against the cap.

Players claimed this season: 27
Total compensation: $783,000

You would think... but management and the media that is tied pretty closely to the management team keep putting out to not expect much movement at the deadline. For some reason, management believes in Skinner and Picks, doesn't think they can make any moves because they haven't talked to Kane and think they are good on the right side of the def. It is extremely frustrating that the teams biggest needs 10 years ago are still the team's biggest needs today.

Oilers brain trust once again makes another huge move to strengthen the team. Obviously going all in for a 2025 SC win.
