I think Chiarelli said he wanted to create some competition for the backup spot (Obviously LB will be in on it). This seems like the perfect candidate for that.

Anyone that saw Broissoit last year saw that he wasn'nt ready to be full time back up. That being said, Chia said he wanted to bring in a goalie to create competition for that back up role. Good that this is a 1 year deal.

He probably is but it's good to have competition in camp and Brossoit should be a started in the AHL anyways.

Wanted Enroth but Monster is okay I guess. If you wanna create competition for the backup spot I guess you sign an ok backup goalie instead of a good backup goalie.

He had 2 good first NHL games then crapped the bed last year, albeit he was playing behind a heavily AHL defence due to injuries. We'll see if he comes in and plays better this year, if he looks great and beats out Gustavsson then thats completely fine.
