I think the premise of this trade is wrong from the start. I believe Holland would target Kane, not Toews, from Chicago.

Second, while Chicago should get fair value from the Oilers, I don't think Broberg gets moved at all. Holland and company are pretty heavily invested in him.

Lastly Arizona will get a pick and that's probably it for retaining 25% for less than a season.

Just my two cents.

Yamamoto, Broberg, and Poolparty aren't players that Kyle Davidson would want. (he probably would target Foegele tho)

If KD is trading away Toews, Domi, and McCabe, he would look to acquire other assets instead.

I'm all for improving the team and trading Broberg and our 2nd if the deal is right. Hell I'd move/add our 1st. I want nothing to do with a Domi rental or the McCabe contract (2 more years at 4m per). This deal even with a bunch of assets not deemed valuable is still a brutal deal for Edmonton.

We can talk the Toews rental. I'd move the 2nd, 3rd and a prospect not named Broberg, Holloway or Bourgault. Foegele for the cap dump. If Chicago can pull a 1st from someone else they should obviously do that. Edmonton shouldn't move a 1st or equivalent value prospect for anything outside of legit top 4 D help.

Nobody is going, you know what would fix the Oilers D, Jake McCabe.

3- Too much going to Arizona for just 25%
4-Mcabe and Domi would have different roles in Edmonton and their production would suffer

I don't see us using it on Chychrun nor do I see us using it on a mediocre draft pick either. I also think Meruelo would be tight with his money until the arena deal is finalized. Just in case...which I don't think will fall through!

Will take Kane though, and it still wouldn't cost this much for a RENTAL with FULL NO TRADE CLAUSE.
