Sucks if something happens to your guys.
Since watching a bunch of no talent goons is good hockey right
We finished ahead of you guys, you were chasing us all year. If we have nothing but no talent goons, what do you guys have?

Rangers fans already wishing injuries on players. Very similar fanbase to the Panthers. There is simply no reason to be this toxic over a sport.
Have you read whats been posted in your own forum?
Ah I see you've been conversing with Piles fans and not actually watching any of the games, the whiners and divers lost that series. I give that as much credence as people still thinking Aho should "answer the bell" for what was an incidental hit he was able to brace for, but then constantly excuse Rempe and Trouba not needing to answer the bell on actual dirty hits for X, Y, & Z reasons!!
I have seen plenty from the Carolina Urinalcakes myself for me to come to that conclusion. It goes back to the Skinner days and has not improved since.

If we’re bringing up ancient history…

I can't wait to see the banner next season:

"Carolina Hurricanes 2023-2024 Almost Presidents' Trophy"

Can't wait to see the article at the end of the season:

President's trophy curse strikes again; Rangers eliminated from playoffs; Will not win Stanley Cup.

Frankly, I don't care that we didn't win the Presidents trophy. No President's trophy team has won the cup since Chicago in 2013.

Jeez... Carolina news must be really boring.

At least jeuje up that title a bit.

Since 80% of your fan base already lives here, we will invite you to the ceremony.
If opening night is against the Rangers, we'll try to leave some seats for the jerk fans.

Is that an implication that you'd actually hang a banner for getting one?

Yikes
This is league standard, sorry you guys haven't seen one... ever...

As far as trophies go, everyone knows the P in "Presidents'" stands for participation, and my formative years predate such concepts. Thus, I can't get all jazzed about a banner heralding a team being the "best at participation". Since playoffs exist, I just can't wrap my head around it being a thing. Sorry.

Again... I understand the confusion since the jerks have never participated in a Presidents' trophy season.

I don't see what the big deal about the President's trophy is anyway in a season. Yes, it shows the team was the best in the league.

The more important accomplishment for an NHL franchise is the Stanley Cup because it proves that there was one team left standing after a long battle of attrition with 15 other teams. A freaking war.

The only real advantage a team has with President's trophy is home ice advantage through the entire playoffs and home ice in itself may not be an advantage anyway in a series if the other team wins on the host teams ice.

Over the years there have been a lot of teams whom have won that trophy during the regular season only to fail to win the Holy Grail (Stanley Cup) in the playoffs.

Could be hot goaltending, team they played was just better than them in the series, a number of factors that will cause the demise of the best team in the league in the NHL regular season.

So, great the NY Rangers won home ice through the playoffs. But, can they get through Carolina, Florida, maybe Boston or Toronto in the East.

What about the winner of the Vegas/Dallas series. Colorado or Edmonton out West. Colorado scares me out west.

All of these teams will have a say to whom takes the ultimate prize.

This was the tighest race I've seen in sometime. Boston ran away with trophy last year in regards to points...and we know what happened to them last season.

This year 10 teams had over 100 points and 4 other teams were within 5 points of the Rangers. Just goes to show you how competitive the league was this year.

Yes, I'm rooting for my team but I'm going to enjoy these playoffs and especially this next series (NYR and Carolina) because both teams finished within 3 points of one another and Carolina has been playing great since December. Rangers had that one bad month (January) and was nearly caught by Carolina.

Carolina will not be a pushover in this series regardless of what any fan or fans on the Rangers think. If fans think Carolina will be a pushover they have not watched them play this season.

I'd be completely surprised of a sweep, surprised if it goes 5 but NOT surprised if it goes 6 or 7.

So to me winning the President's trophy accomplishes nothing.

Could the Rangers win the Cup? Sure? Can the Hurricanes win the Cup? Yes...but so can the other teams I mentioned.

Battle...of...attrition. Last team standing wins and whom will that team be? Remains to be seen? That's the drama of the playoffs.

Ok... that's a long way of saying... not a lot? I guess?

No one said the Presidents' trophy was more important than the Stanley Cup.

I was just replying to the poster who implied winning the trophy wasn't something to celebrate.

I mean.. it's no "Expansion Divison Champions" banner, but we'll take.

I get your point. Sorry for the rant. It's just my opinion on the President's trophy.
