Well he kind of was, but he is correct, this is only a 2nd round series to them, because they have been through the gauntlet, and have their eyes set on the big prize. You need your top players to find a place where they need to get to, a dark dirty place where they may be scared or insecure to enter, to do the things required to win. And I dont know if the Leafs have all the players required to do so.
Damn. Dude sounds like Dr. Phil

Florida has been through the wars, and deserve to be favoured in this series. They are probably the most complete team in the league, defending Cup champs and 2X Eastern Conference champions. They've been there and have proven they can win it all.

If the Leafs are going to pull off the upset, they will need to match, or at least compete with, Florida's intensity. Matthews, Marner and Nylander will have to be their best players, and they will need figure out a way to hold limit that third line's impact on the series.

I think a lot of people that haven't watched the Leafs this year are in for a surprise. Treliving has built the Leafs for this matchup. Literally, anticipating having to play Florida in the first or second round. Will it be enough? I'm not sure. The Cats are a damn good team. But it's going to be fun to watch....

I don't think Florida will beat the Leafs as easily as they did in 2023. That said, Florida should win in 6. Leafs looked bad against Ottawa and their core sucks. Stolarz won them that series. He will have to be their best player.

This is low quality bait. Yes Stolarz and his .901 was the reason for winning the series :eyeroll:

lookin back i didnt think the panthers beat them that easily
most games were within 1 goal most of the time and it was really bob standing on his head.
I believe cats were outshot every game.

Thought samsonov and woll played good that series but Stolarz is a better goalie on top of their defense being better.

That said panthers defense and depth is miles better than that series too

Marchand>Duclair
Erod>Cousins
Sturm>Eric Staal
Greer>Dalpe
Boqvist>Colin white

Mikkola>Gudas
Jones more of less Montour who was a big loss
Kulikov>>>>>>>>>>>Marc Staal
Schmidt>Mahura

15 out of 16 writers picked the Panthers.

You’d be mad not to have The Panthers as favourites, they’ve been there, seen it, done it but I don’t think it’ll be the walkover some (mainly trolls) are predicting.
I think it’ll be a close series and very tight games, might come down to one or two pivotal movements and which side takes them.

Did you really watch the series or...?Stolarz didn't stole the serie at all...

1- Stolarz had been good but stole nothing and was responsible in reality of 2 Ot leafs had to play ( watch #3). Overall, he didn't really had to do too much in reality and will need to be even better especially late in the game 3rd or even in OT ( Sanderson goal should not goes in)

2- Leafs limited the risk and keep team in the outside most of the time making life easier for Stolarz

3-If you watch just scoresheet, you will say oh leafs was unable to keep a lead...But overal they played great hockey to protect their lead

1st lead lost was a wide blueline shot perfectly deflected with 5 min left and was the 1st ottawa shot in like what previous 19 min

2nd lead: bad goal allowed by Stolarz, should be stop

3rd : Weak goal allowed from behind the net

So the guy who are suppose had won the series for them cost at least 2 3rd period lead and 1 game. Like i said he will need to be better in those situation next serie vs Florida...

4- Toronto played exactly the same way they did all season long, find the way to win the 1 goal gane. No team had been better this season in 1 goal game and that was the difference in that serie.

So if Toronto was looking bad doing what they did all year long and finishing 1st in the division 10 pts ahead Florida... well that's your opinion but they just keep their style all serie long whatever what's happened... even when Ottawa tied it in gm 6 and pressure became high for leafs... They still calm and still playing their own style no matter what.

fwiw in 2023 we were way under toronto, this year we mailed it in hard until playoffs

Our best regular season record we got demolished by tampa so i wouldnt go by regular season points or anything.

If the leafs have Woll in game 7 a panthers cup run never happens that year.

Florida better not be looking past the leafs like the fans are or they will be sorry

I was not talking about regular season result but just saying leafs played the same exact way in playoff than what they did all year long... and outside game 5, they was the best team on the ice
