You think you hate the Leafs and then the Panthers fans come along and call Ottawa scrubs and you realize you hate them both. Ottawa woulda taken Florida 6. Done better than Tampa. Still go Panthers, you arrogant f***s. At least I won't have to listen to your tiny fanbase the rest of next year if you win because there's almost none of you. Panthers fanbase = 2 guys, and they're both on HF. And one of them is a Canadian snowbird. 3 years away from being the backwater again lucky to sell out 1/3rd of the building and in danger of being relocated.
So, I guess you weren’t one of the fans leaving Ottawa’s barn chanting “let’s go Panthers!” :D

Think the Leafs are a bit healthier than the Lightning . I expect a hard series. Ultimately I agree with your outcome but in think this version of the leafs is being dismissed very quickly .
The Leafs are built for the regular season, the Panthers are built for the playoffs.

The Leafs might win one game like the Lightning, but they’ll tap out just as quick.

Everyone knew the Leafs weren't gaining respect by beating the Sens.

I think this is the real ECF. Winner of this is beating either metro team

I feel the same, if I'm to predict a winner to come out of the east. Which is a shame, because now that Tampa Bay is out, I would prefer Carolina to be the ones coming out of the east. Before the playoffs even started I predicted that whoever came out of the Atlantic bracket would beat whoever came out of the Metropolitan bracket, no matter which pairing of the four teams on each side of the bracket it ended up being. I stand by that prediction now that the first round in the east is over.

Despite the regular season standings, the Leafs are clearly the underdog in this series.

The majority of hockey fans and media pundits aren't giving the Leafs much of a chance to win the series. For the guys in the locker room, that is not necessarily a bad thing. There is no pressure against the defending champs. They can just go out and play and let the chips fall where they may.

I'm just thankful that the Panthers late season slump didn't result in them in falling into the wildcard slot or the Leafs would have had to face them in the first round.

Panthers are the favorite, but the pressure is on Toronto. They have to find a way to finaly pass the second round.

It would su** to lose against Toronto, but just because it’s Toronto.

Losing in R2 wouldn’t be a big deal for them and the fans. Panthers played a lot of hockey over the last 3 years and an early exit this year would easily be forgiven IMO.
I don't mind losing to the Leafs the team.

Losing to maybe the most insufferable fanbase in all of sports, that's what sucks.

Their core four can't play the grind the way we play it

The Leafs don't have to play the grind to win, though. That's not their system, so they're not going to try and out-grind the cats. That would be a pretty bad approach.

Instead they'll do their thing and if it forces the Panthers to adjust, they're on their way. Otherwise, yep, it'll be a relatively easy series for the Floridians.

What I am hearing is we officially have Summer Rose on the bandwagon.

Let's go!!!

I'm not a Panthers fan, but i assume you know the comedy in the self depreciation you guys exhibit in your GDT's.
That is true. I definitely prefer the main boards for game days as the Leaf ones can become bipolar.

But we never adjust. We've never done it under Maurice. That's the thing with his system, it's simple and effective.
