Picked Leafs before the playoffs to go to the Cup (lose to the Avs) Final.
Leafs 4-1 win the series.

Leafs fan - Likely Florida in 6

But a couple OT games can swing a series.
Some of the “Leafs have zero chance” posts - is just normal main board jackassery.

Most Leaf fans I know personally say the same. I try to pump them up with talk about how they improved the d, but they aren't biting.

Panthers made it quick last time. They have more mercy than others.

Panthers in 5 is the bar. As much as I want the Leafs to win, I can't see that changing.

It's really only goaltending where there's a noticeably edge.

I say the bottom 6 is where the real difference is. Especially the 3rd line:

Luostarinen - Lundell - Marchand 5gp 3g 11a 14p +14

vs,

McMann - Holmberg - Domi 6gp 1g 3a 4p +/-0

It’s more about the respect I have for Florida, than thinking the Leafs aren't good.

I would take them over Carolina or Washington.

Florida is a major tough out.

Conventional wisdom points to Florida but a healthy Leaf team with goaltending (unlike last year in the playoffs) could be a biting underdog....Just sayin

Anyway gonna be fun......Can't wait.....

I guessing the games will actually be quite close. Assuming atleast 3 OT. If both are healthy, I have Floridas 3rd line beeing the decisive factor. Florida in 6, but wouldnt be too upset if Toronto wins.

Depends how the Leafs handle the forecheck. The Panthers gameplan is to basically grind down your defencemen to dust throughout the series. Toronto’s D is pretty good but it’s relatively old and has some injury prone guys back there. It’s not the most mobile group either.

Still, I think the Leafs can pull this one out.

Florida’s the defending champs and natural favorites, will be interesting to see how close this given how they made roadkill of Tampa. But Toronto also beat the crap out of Tampa in the regular season. Hopefully the Leafs are on their best behaviour vs in 2023 when the Rats were in their Cinderella era.
