You're right. Moderators need to turn this into a rules free thread

This right here is why I am most excited for this series. We are witnessing a narrative change before our eyes. Lots of guys were losers until they weren't. This is the Leafs time.
Yea, believe me I get it. The Caps were losers who couldn’t get past the 2nd round. “Choking dogs” as a prominent DC sports personality put it. Ovi will never win a Cup, etc…

And that was all true, until one year it wasn’t. You win and it all changes, and it’s awesome. I like to joke around as much as anyone - but, ultimately I think it’s good for the game (and passionate fanbases) for stars like Matthews and McDavid to win a Cup. So, hope it works out for you guys one of these years.

Agreed

After this series the Leafs top players all go elsewhere and win

Which opponent Florida will meet in the ECF? That's the question.

The more and more I come to terms with the leafs going from HEAVY favorites to heavy underdogs with home ice, the more I am starting to hope the panthers themselves are overlooking the leafs like their fans are.

Panthers should win this series, but they’ll have to earn it. Overlook this leafs team at your own peril

The Panthers certainly are not looking past the Leafs. They know they’re going to have to bring top effort to beat Toronto

We'll see. Toronto players talking about the important of controlling the series early and how last time going down 0-2 at home was a huge difference.

If the Panthers players are not dialed in, Toronto is taking game 1 in a huge margin IMO.

You could say that about any team, outside of the Shinny Oilers.

I think the Leafs actually match up well against Florida. Both teams finished in the top 5 in hits during the season. I think Leafs can handle Florida’s toughness. 3 factors for me in this series is can Toronto stay composed during whistles, you know Marchand and Tkachuk are going to be yapping. Second one is can Stolarz go save for save with Bobrovsky? And can the Leafs finally get their big guns to deliver in crucial moments? If they can do that than Toronto not only wins this series but have a great chance at going to the Cup Finals. I got Leafs in 7. It’s gotta happen at some point

If the Panthers stay focused it's a bad matchup for the Leafs.
The reason why the Panthers are a good playoff team is. Evan Rodrigues steps up in the playoffs. So does Bennett, and Verhaeghe, and Lundell (which helps Luostarinen produce better). And Barkov, and Reinhart, and Tkachuk, all play at least a good as they usually do. And the whole team plays high level defense. Plus good goaltending. Which gives them the rep for being built for the playoffs.
