And then they put the best American player, one that could really spark interest in the US, the kid from AriZona, in Toronto.
It's all fixed, I tell ya.

What's funny, is that I don't remember anyone saying last October that the Dodgers/Yankees WS, literally the dream match-up for MLB, was fixed.

Genuine question

Is the mindset now, "Who cares, we already won" Among the fan base ?

Like I get it, I think I maybe might feel the same way if the Leafs won 1 cup. But for the most part you guys seem carefree af, I mean your team did accomplish the ultimate goal already.

But is there still that hunger or desire for a 2nd cup, or is it kinda like meh whatever happens ?

There's a decent amount among HF at least that feels this way, present company included. I got to see my favorite team of 25+ years win a Stanley Cup, I got to drink out of said Cup by the beach, my fan needs were fulfilled.

That being said, of course we would want to repeat/win another cup with this core. Outside of the Miami Heat, South Florida pro sports have been a miserable sight for decades. The Panthers sadly have been the most successful product since LeBron left, and before that, the Marlins in 2003.

Honestly I kinda regret hanging out near the stage area vs along the parade route. Maybe I'll get the chance this year lol

Watching Matthews in the playoffs it's crystal clear that he simply doesn't have the ability or talent to elevate his game to the level players like McDavid, Draisaitl, MacKinnon, Kucherov et al. can.

It's why I've always found the discussion of him being in contention for "best in the world" a perplexing take. He's fairly one dimensional due to his average playmaking and has never proven he belongs in that discussion for an extended period of time. He's put together 2 solid regular season campaigns in 9 years.

Everyone tells me about these mythical hockey gods. Didn't you just guarantee that Matthews scores 2 goals tomorrow night?

The hyperbole with Matthews is insane. Playing elite defense and has 10 points in 10 games but is talked like he is an AHLer.
