Yeah, because NHL teams f**k around and intentionally lose games in the playoffs. Happens all the time eh?

Ok, let's see. I didn't say they intentionally lost the games. But I do think Florida is getting stronger as the series goes on. And we know what happens to our Leafs historically in these games the deeper the series goes. Why should I think this series will be different? I want them to prove a bunch of us people wrong. Win tomorrow, and win game 6. I know I 100% like them over Washington or Carolina. So this is a great opportunity for them.

This been mentioned yet? Florida's offensive output is super even.

What a beautiful day. Been a fun series so far, tied 2-2 going back home with home ice is a pretty good spot to be in against a team like the Panthers. A few days of rest and the boys will hopefully be past the bug and ready to push again.

Excited for the game tomorrow should be a lot of fun. Expecting the Leafs to take it once they get their forecheck going again. Game 4 was a stinker for sure, they won't come out like that twice.

Just so I'm clear, youre implying they dont deserve to be ripped for that performance? Do you think the leadership group is sound?
If you had read any of my posts. I’d say repeatedly that you are blowing this out of proportion (because obviously it fits your narrative, duh). The series is 2-2, in the playoffs there are ups and downs. I’ve never seen a ppg player be ripped as much as AM, same with Marner, etc. of course in leaf hater land the sky is falling, but I think most of our rational fans are waiting to see how this plays out. As speculated by many, Matthews likely playing with a broken wrist or something of the sort. To be ppg and playing through that says enough.

Of course when Matthews or anyone you’ve been crapping on has a big game - you’ll be nowhere to be found. Rinse and repeat.

In before the Toronto media articles about, “Berube takes a shot at Willie Styles!!”
To be fair - the chances that tkachuk (who is extremely slow) catches Nylander is next to 0. He already tried it with Marner and failed miserably.

The Leafs didn't finish where they did this season by accident.
not by accident, but it's pretty obvious that one of the two teams spent most of the year trying to make sure their players were as rested as possible for the playoffs and the other wasn't. Using the placement in the division to determine which team is better/should be favored is pretty foolish.

Panthers and Leafs have a two day break why? Pretty unfair to other teams remaining who are battling without any favoritism.

The standard for Matthews exists because he's the highest paid player in the league, and has been up there on both his contracts. So sure being just a PPG player is fine on its own, but its not when you carry the cap hit he does and regresses every spring. When his peers are all stepping up, and even players worse than him become better.

Marner and Nylander meanwhile have been atrocious defensively and typically soft. Fly bys, avoiding the dirty areas, leaving the defence out to dry, avoiding contact.

They're ripped because theyre outclassed by their peers every spring. McD, Drai, Mac, Rantanen, Pasta.. yet also by "lesser" players (Hintz, Miller, Guentzel, Wilson, Connor, Strome, Kempe). Its inexcusable at the salaries they have

Not sure how that is obvious.. Leafs were the better team first two games and the better team for at least half of game 3 that ended with an OT bounce.

Panthers have only been the undisputed better team once in game 4.

I don't think that Florida play with any pressure. Winning this series is way more important for the Leafs than it is for the Panthers. Wouldn't be a big deal at tall for them and the fans if they lose. But Toronto...especially after leading 2-0....different story...
I mean, a series win is more crucial for Leafs than it is for the Panthers, but lets not pretend that it has no importance for the Panthers. If they can make the final (or win this year) again, then you could start the argument that this Panthers team could become the next great dynasty in Hockey. A loss to the Leafs would kill any chances at that.

This is silly. Did Florida rest the whole season so that they could lose the first two games of this series?

Generally speaking this series has been very even. Panthers were bad in game 1, Leafs were bad in game 4. The other two games were very close.

I said Panthers in 7 originally. Glad to see neither of these two teams are going down quietly

I said Leafs in 7 so I am there with you. I didn't expect this to be an easy series, I maintain this is the real ECF and the winner is going to steam roll Carolina based off what I have seen in the other series.

People are doing victory laps far too early when it comes to the Leafs downfall. Best of 3 with home ice and they have won all but 1 game on home ice this playoff.
