Series Talk: ECSF: (A1)Toronto Maple Leafs vs (A3)Florida Panthers - (FLA leads 3-2) Part 2

Toronto's 5 on 5 numbers in this series look.... bad. Florida is blowing them out in most categories but the Leafs have scored 5 more goals than expected to even things out a lot.

Florida has been the best, if not top 2/3, even strength team over the past few seasons, so its not suprising that their numbers are better. Its the lapses they have at times, and the odd man rushes that their systems allows at times, which has gotten them into trouble.

Yeah agreed. Florida’s clearly controlled the play since Game 2. That one got away due to a couple of lapses, but each game since has leaned further in their favor. Leafs are lucky to still be in this series at all.

Our first game against the panthers, we looked and played like we were A.I.

Glad there was an extra day off after this last game so we can forgive our sins!

They can still succeed and steer the ship towards victory after facing these rough waves and calm the waters! GO LEAFS GO!

I still believe

I’d rather he go after someone that actually does something on the ice. Nylander would be the only one that fits the bill on the team.
Tkachuk isn't going to do shit. He's too much of a p***y, unless it's an elbow. Didn't have much to say to Knies, who was yapping at him as he was doing the whole "I am coming to get you" thing to Nylander. Wonder why.

Stop trying to be a tough guy. It's lame.

Ummm, because it’s all fukking mind games.... Nylander has shown a tendency to shy away from physical play at times. Knies hasn’t.
Not too hard to understand now why Tkachuk would say shit to Nylander instead of Knies. Funny, you’d think people in the Mecca of Hockey would have a better grasp of such things.

Hes already doing shit though, if it needs to be an elbow, take the “$5k fine” and get our moneys worth.

Game 5 is gonna be a rough one for the Leafs.

Maybe try to understand who and what I was replying to. You don't have to be from the "mecca of hockey" to read.

Ogie Ogilthorpe here was talking about Tkachuk "going after" Nylander, not "fukking mind games."

Here's a refresher:

Domi not being suspended means Tkachuk has an opportunity to put his money where his mouth is. Let's see if he goes after Domi for the hit or shows his true colors and leadership ability and goes after someone else.

Agreed. It's not too hard to understand.

No, it’s not too hard to understand why he would chirp Nylander instead of Knies, which was my point of replying to your asking, “why doesn’t he do it to knies? It’s not about who he’s really going to go after, it’s all about talking shit and trying to plant seeds of doubt in an opponent before the next game.

I'm mostly just shaking my head at this. It's just a frigging game. Second, you have a point but I'd counter the guy in the wife beater threw a sucker punch. I.e., he hit like his team does :)

And the Leafs fan acted just like the Leafs captain, or Marner, or Nylander would. by just standing there and waiting for someone else to step in.

Sucker punch though thats for sure, tough guy punk South Floridian.

But that is literally what I was replying to in my original post. Like, almost word for word.

On this we agree. He would rather chirp Nylander instead of Knies. Nylander's an easy target. Knies, not so much. I get it now.

So allow Tkachuk to lower his quality of play to that of Domi rather than being a leader and going after the person that made the hit? Then again, Florida did cheap shot Hagel rather than settling things the old school way and dropping the gloves.
Makes perfect sense to me.

If a 4th line tool runs your best player, then it’s 100% a better option to target their top guys…I mean that’s revenge 101.

I did miss what you were originally replying to. Usually, I’m better at reading/considering what is being replied to before I comment.
