Prediction before the series was Leafs in 7, still feel that way

Good news for Toronto, Woll looks like he's settled in. He was great for us all year but basically sat for a month before Stolarz got hurt.

Going home for game 5, last change advantage, we have a good shot at getting the W.

Will be interesting to see if Kulikov gets a hearing for that dirty Elbow to Marners head. That is the 4th unpenalized headshot by a Florida player this series, second one from Kulikov in particular. You'd think at some point the league actually enforces the rules.

This pretty much tells me that no one will injured anyone.

If the Panthers do anything dumb. League can take Tkachucks threat into account and throw them out of the series.

Could have been easily 2-1 Florida after 3.

Fortunately you pick everyone to beat the Cats every game and have become our lucky charm. So please never change. I'm actually surprised Barkov didn't come out and say "This is all thanks to BobHolly39 for going against us every single game. We printed out his messages and put them on the wall before each game to get the lads heads in the game"

barkov leans over to the wall to read the message, and domi staples his face into the message to make sure that the cats definitely got their heads in the game

Just like Ottawa was going to reverse sweep after games 4 and 5 last series, where they also looked like ass. Fans love making up simplistic narratives but the reality is every game is different and both teams are constantly adjusting and playing at different levels.

I’d like to see a longer highlight clip of this play. All of the clips showing how “brutal” this elbow was cut off right after marner does the knee buckle/hold on to the dasher to stay up, but it looked like he then straightens right up after and skates away looking like he was barely touched. It was enough to make you go, hmmmmm? I’d like to see it again, but all the rage clips cut off before they get to that part
It was a missed 2 minute penalty, Marner briefly tried to sell it as more.
 
As I'm sure most fans saw by now, Kulikov went full Elbow into Marner's head last game. No penalty was called on the play, but similar plays have routinely led to multi game suspensions, usually a 5 minute major is assessed as well.

This would mark the 2nd game in a row where he has headshot an opposing player without being penalized or facing discipline for it, you would think after the league let the first incident slide that they'd for sure take a look at this one.

For those that may not have seen it, tagging it below




For the hit from the previous game. In the second replay around 8 seconds, you can clearly see it's shoulder making contact with the head first. It was a very fast play so I see how the referees in real time missed it, I could barely see it myself. On replay, clear as day, shoulder to head.



Just last round Ekblad got 2 games for elbowing Hagel in the head

Couple years ago Bunting got 3 games for elbowing Cernak in the head

Without STolarz? I thought this was Toronto's year. I truly did but they are going out after FL wins 4 in a row. Actually, cheering for the Leafs this year but they look done. IMHO.

Targets the best player who had multiple head injuries before......not at a good look at all! I predict more violence to come from this for sure, its just getting started!

Even a $5000 fine on Domi is ludicrous when put in the context of the elbow to the head Marner received last night and the high hit on Tavares in the previous game and Stolarz being taken out of the series and the attempt to also take Woll out of the series. I guess this is as good as it gets for the Leafs though when it comes to the DoPS.

Could easily be TOR up 3-0 after 3, then the response game by FLA, getting them to 3-1. FLA had a lot of lucky goals in the first 3 games, same with TOR. And 2 years ago TOR was the better team in game 5 and lost. That's how it goes.
