Seeing Stolie, their glue, the guy who coordinates their flow and structure 5v5, puking on the bench rattled them to a man, and that was the series right there.

Leafs were up 2-0 in the series, had a 2 goal lead in game 3 and took game 3 to OT, then scored 1 goal in 6 periods of hockey.

goal tending is not the difference here, especially considering Bob was terrible for 3 games.

Woll absolutely stood on his head in game 4. It's tough to blame the goaltender for losing three straight here, IMO.

Aside from the Mikkola goal (game was over anyways), which was pretty horrible, he should take no blame.

I thought they should have just pulled him after 2 periods down 4-0 and give Murray the 3rd no matter what. Don't put him out there when your team is playing that poorly with a <1% chance of coming back.

Bjorkstrand didn’t have his cap retained, Laughton did.

It cost Tampa over double what the Leafs paid.

If you measure the impact while ignoring the cost, sure. If you measure the impact and result with the cost, the Tampa trade was worse.

He also referenced the worst trade in the last decade as if the Jeannot trade didn’t happen recently by Tampa as well.

Bjorkstrand wasn't retained because Gourde was. Tampa paid double because they got two guys who played better than Laughton.

Jeannot trade was absolutely a swing and a miss. Not saying Laughton was that bad of a deal but some people speculated that the Lightning knew about Foote's involvement in the Hockey Canada scandal and had to overpay to move him. However bad the Jeannot trade was, Brisebois has made numerous that worked out tremendously. Hagel, Moser and Geekie for Sergachev, McDonagh for a third, letting Stamkos walk to sign Guentzel, acquiring Goodrow, Coleman, Savard, etc.

Leafs are not done , they do their best work when the fanbase turns on them and the expectations are relieved , I fully expect them to win game 6 because they know everyone thinks they are dead.

Same thing happened just last series vs ottawa , fanbase was freaking out and calling them losers for losing 2 straight. So they quietly won when people expected them to lose. They do this all the time. The second you believe in them is when they do their best choking

It's different. The loudest were turning on them last series, most thought they had it because they looked legit still just lost some games.

The last 2 games is not the team I have watched this season. That was the same Leafs we saw every playoff for years now. There was no fight or pride.

They are cooked. If the Panthers choke this series it is a historic choke.

Quick count here but Matthews/Marner era Leafs are 3-10 at home in game 5 onwards of series (excluding bubble year altough I guess that would just make them 3-11). Which is honestly wild. Its tough to be that bad at home.

Playoff hockey is physical. It only gets more intense as the playoffs go on. Every team is dealing with injuries.
Surprised you aren’t upset about Domi trying to take out the Panthers number one center and OEL taking out Rodriguez.

Karma is real by your logic. OEL takes out Rodrigues and Domi tries to take out Barkov in game 4. Leafs get blown out in game 5.

The rebuttal is quite obvious. The Leafs have two goalies of pretty equal quality. Losing Stolarz took away the Leafs ability to play the hot hand but it's not like they went from an elite goalie to a league min scrub. Lmao at the narrative of dishonorable tactics. Was Domi boarding barkov at the buzzer of game 4 dishonorable?
