Series isn't over, but I'd assume if the Leafs do leave in the 2nd round they won't bend over backwards to try to keep Marner. Distribute some of that money to Knies and to improve the top 9 depth.

We'll see how both teams come out Friday.

Very disrispektful behavior by some garbage fans of the team while the core4 is trying their best out there against cheapshotting scumbags. This game was closer than the result would indicate.

I know people want to badmouth the leafs, but I think Florida is just that good. They dropped a couple 6's on Tampa in the first round too. As a Canes fan, was really hoping the leafs could pull it off. But Florida seems inevitable.

Looks like a reverse sweep is about to happen. Losers since 1967 is the new team motto for the Leafs.

Seems like the Leafs only wanted to battle for Stolarz in net, that injury was the turning point for this series. Yes, Woll has been decent….just seems like a different team in front of him.

I got to give it to Florida for always tweaking the roster even when they lost some players this past off-season to free agency like Montour and OEL. Panthers fans enjoy the good times while it lasts, it’s too far and in between. Just ask Chicago fans. Tampa Bay fans and LA Kings fans from the last decade. They all had great runs enjoy this team and cheer hard as they deserve it!

There is no silver lining for the Leafs after this round. They will lose Marner, which should be the case and Tavares should walk as well. Hopefully these two are not signed again.

No amount of tweaking will get the bad mojo from this franchise. How many eras does it take to figure it out? It’s hard being a Leafs fan, with a die hard fan base that cheers mediocrity and feeling like being in an abusive relationship with a franchise that takes fans for granted.

Don’t care if the Leafa win in 7 by some miracle. This team is not built for the playoffs and will lose eventually. Disappointing.

Going by experience, this series is certainly not over until one team wins 4, so Im not counting the Leafs out yet.

Knies looks good for sure. Their problem is, they need a 2nd line center, and address their depth. Tavares is not going to cut it as a 2nd line center anymore. And they need to add some depth that has some playoff experience, and brings a culture that is missing on that team. I know the obvious choice for a center the fans would like, but you cant have him!

You said Florida wouldnt score more than 2 goals a game this series, and that they would roll over the Panthers, blah blah blah You're either trolling, or just stuck in lala land, because this Leafs team is nowhere built for a SC run. Even if they do come back to win Games 6 and 7.

Coming out the way they did in Game 5, flat like that, with ZERO emotion, the same mistakes they have made for years, the absence of their star players, and the same emotionless responses from the post game interviews, shows that they are not built for these moments. They are scared, soft, and cave in when the pressure is applied to them. They are losers.

That's completely false. Matthews and Marner were focused and tried their very best but the refs looked past numerous hooking penalties and stick infractions against the Leafs. It's incredibly difficult to win games in the playoffs when the refs favor the Panthers.
