That was what you can an ass whoopin’.

Panthers looked like the champs, Leafs looked like they should still be sucking mama’s tiddy.

Oh well. On to Friday. f***.

Banal injury talk aside Matthews hasn’t had a decent shot on net since he took a puck off the palm of his hand in Game 4 of the Ottawa series (that he iced on the bench).

His Game 6 goal looked like it was a lucky whiff too.

Matthews is catching most of the shit. That's fair. He's the biggest gun of the core 4, Captain, reputed current best goal scorer in the league, etc. Otoh he's rumored to be injured, and sure doesn't look like himself.

Marner has played like absolute dogshit the past 3 games. Save some vitriol for him.

"I have a feeling that they're finally going to get it done this year. This is their year."

The year:

Bieksa and Hrudey saying the fans shouldn’t boo after a performance like that.

f*** off. Biggest game of the season, one of the biggest of this core’s tenure, and they pay to see that?

They’re lucky public stonings aren’t allowed anymore.

People keep saying Matthews is injured but...Matthews' 2 goals in his last 11 is actually an improvement over the one goal he has in the 10 games before that (where he wasnt injured). So if anything his injury has nearly doubled his goalscoring output.

There really is no excuse for Matthews at this point. This season hes injured sure, but hes scoring more than usual and only like 2 goals off of where he averages for his career in the playoffs, which is to say that hes been absolutely horrible. Hes barely a top 20 center in the playoffs by goals per game since he came in. By most accounts he should be a top 3-5 center at the thing hes literally best at in the world right?

Ovechkin was number one in regular season scoring and playoff scoring over the same span in his career (for players with over 25 playoff games). Until Matthews starts actually playing with playoff intensity and scoring the narrative is not going to go away, especially when Toronto fans and media want to talk about him as an all time great or have him in a top 3 or top 5 in the league conversation. Its not just bias against the guy, if Mackinnon or McDavid or Draisaitl put up numbers like that and were that bad on the eye test then it would be a story as well.

As for the game... I dont even know what to say, like I havent seen a team that flat and stay that flat for an entire playoff game at HOME like I did there. It was complete domination. If anything the score flatters the Leafs because Woll made some fantastic saves early on. Hard to imagine that Florida at home with last change are at a disadvantage in game 6. Leafs are good enough to win it for sure but thats a tall task... Might just be over. Even though I want the Panthers to win I cant say I am happy to see Marchand enjoying himself XD
Everyone is playing with injuries this time of the year. No excuses.

I’ve really enjoyed this series up til tonight because both teams have been even and then game 5 happens. Panthers played well but what kind of performance was that by the Leafs? That’s inexcusable.

I expect a closer game 6 but this is the kind of stuff that will sink you in the playoffs.

Most Leaf fans concider him more of a play maker, but some will use goals to criticize him especially when he is still scoring points.
Yeah, as an outsider I just think it's odd. He's a great set up guy. Just had me doubting whether he's watched many Leaf games.
