A few days ago I mistakenly thought that I discovered time travel and went back to the Tort's era of Rangers hockey.

I was watching the games and saw a brutally tight-checked game, where the defense collapses around the net in order to go into the 6-man goalie system and as a result, they end up surrendering open ice to the opposing defensemen to snipe in uncontested shots (Hamilton in Game 3 and Siegenthaler in Game 4 (spelling?)).

They were both those classic 1 goal games that you basically decide with a coin flip. Neither goalie really tested. It's mostly just a back and forth volley of broken plays for both teams and then the Rangers ultimately concede the game by making one mistake where the opposing team capitalizes on by the skin of their teeth.

I could've sworn I was watching Torts hockey from several years ago. My friend just brought me back to reality and told me that we don't have a head coach named Torts anymore, nor do we have any Torts players. That's odd. Because the play that I saw in both games 3 and 4 had me fooled.

Everyone freaks out and morale reaches an all time low, Rangers win game 6 to restore hope and string the fans along onlt to then lose 2 to 1 in double overtime in game 7 to twist the knife extra deep.

Hopefully they can flip the script.
