2017 ROUND ONE SERIES vs OTTAWA

2017 ROUND ONE SERIES vs OTTAWA

The Bruins and Senators play game 4 of their Round One series tonight with Ottawa leading the series 2 games to 1 … Game 5 of this series will be in Ottawa on Apr. 21 … If necessary, game 6 will be in Boston on Apr. 23 with game 7 in Ottawa on Apr. 26.

The Bruins enter tonight’s game with an 8-22 series record when trailing in a best-of-7 series 1-2 … They are 16-14 all-time in game 4s when trailing 1-2 in a best-of-7 series.

6 of Boston’s 8 goals in this series have been scored in the 2nd period.

David Pastrnak (1-2=3) is the only Bruin with points in each of the 3 games of this series so far.

Drew Stafford is the only current Bruin who has previously faced Ottawa in a playoff series (played one scoreless game while with Buffalo in 2007).

Zdeno Chara played 45 playoff games with Ottawa from the 2002-2006 post-seasons with 3-11=14 totals in those games.

Gm 1, Apr. 12: Bos 2 at Ott 1

Bobby Ryan opened the series scoring with a 2nd period goal for Ottawa, who held the Bruins without a shot in that period … The Bruins scored twice in the 3rd for the win, as Frank Vatrano evened the score with his 1st career playoff goal & Brad Marchand netted the GWG with 2:33 remaining in regulation … 8 Bruins made their playoff debuts in the game with Charlie
McAvoy playing his 1st career NHL game … Tuukka Rask took the win in goal with Craig Anderson earning the loss … SOG: Bos 25, Ott 27 … PP: 0/4 … PK: 0/2

Gm 2, Apr. 15: Bos 3 at Ott 4/OT

Drew Stafford scored the game’s 1st goal before Clarke MacArthur countered for the Senators …The Bruins opened a 3-1 lead on goals by Tim Schaller (SH) and Patrice Bergeron (PP) but Ottawa came back in the 3rd period on goals 2:20 apart by Chris Wideman and Derick Brassard … Dion Phaneuf ended the game at 1:59 of OT … Tuukka Rask and Craig Anderson again got the decisions in net … SOG: Bos 29, Ott 29 … PP: 1/3 … PK: 1/4

Gm 3, Apr. 17: Ott 4 at Bos 3/OT

The Senators opened a 3-0 lead on goals by Mike Hoffman (2) and Derick Brassard but the Bruins came back with 3 2nd period goals by Noel Acciari, David Backes and David Pastrnak to even the score … A scoreless 3rd period sent the game into OT where Bobby Ryan scored on the PP at 5:43 of the extra session … Tuukka Rask and Craig Anderson each played their 3rd straight games in goal … SOG: Bos 20, Ott 32 … PP: 1/3 … PK: 2/4

BOSTON vs OTTAWA, LIFETIME SERIES

The Bruins and Senators are meeting for the first time in the playoffs since the Senators began NHL play in 1992 … That leaves 8 teams that Boston has not yet played in the post-season (Anaheim, Arizona, Calgary, Columbus, Minnesota, Nashville, San Jose, Winnipeg).

The Bruins played the original Ottawa Senators in the 1927 Stanley Cup Final, won by Ottawa in four games.

The Senators now hold a 2-1 edge in games with a 9-8 scoring advantage vs. Boston all-time in post-season play

MILESTONES APPROACHING

Patrice Bergeron is two games short of his 100th NHL playoff game.
Dominic Moore is four games short of his 100th NHL playoff game.

why is it that I feel I`m getting hosed by an 8:30 EST start? Anyways, I am. Got a real good feeling about this one. Why? No clue, it`s all in my over sized gut, just feel it

I knew Moore had played alot of playoff games, had no clue it was almost 100

No excuses. Come out ready to go. Hit them hard. Get after Karlsson. Don't allow him to control the game. Score early and often. No sitting back. This is a must win. I expect them to be ready and willing to get the job done. First line, step up. Playoff Krejci step up. Dmen, hold the fort. Heads up but be physical.

Don't allow the Sens any more room to get away with what they have. Get after them, hard.

Just. F*****g. Win!

Believe!

Lets go!

Two keys to this game (IMO):

1) Get the first goal and make them chase.
2) Hit Karlsson early and often and stay glued to him.

Bruins better come out gunning tonight or this could spell the end.

#2 sounds great in theory, question is, who on this team can catch him to do it?;)

I play tonight at 19h45. Will DVR the game and Watch it when I come back around 21h30. I would feel a lot better going to bed late or very late if there is an OT 2-2 than 3-1...

Go Bruins! Win this!

Don't Thnk there is any doubt they need to win this one. No way they are comming back from 3-1.I really don't know what to expect tonight ,would have thought last game Bruins would have come out on fire .Didnt Thnk there was any chance of them coming back to tie the last game after being down.So have know idea what to expect this game.

Let's GOOOOOOOO. Good to see Colin Miller back. REALLY thought we'd see Carlo at this point in the series, but I get it. It seems as if he could have received a concussion from the Ovi hit, so it's much better to be safe than sorry when it comes to a young cornerstone D-man. Especially seeing as how the playoffs get much more intense.
