[shadow=black]Did You Know?[/shadow]
• This is the Penguins' first time since the NHL began the Conference set-up for playoffs in 1993-94 that the Penguins will hold the #1 seed.
• This is playoff berth #28 for the Pittsburgh Penguins in their history (45 played seasons), including their 18th in the past 22 seasons. The Penguins hold a 152-131 all-time record in the playoffs overall and a series record of 28-24 - winning Stanley Cups in 1991, 1992, and 2009.
• This is playoff berth #22 for the New York Islanders in their history (40 played seasons), but only their 5th trip in the past 18 seasons. The Islanders hold a 133-106 all-time record in the playoffs overall and a series record of 30-17 - winning Stanley Cups in 1980, 1981, 1982, and 1983.
• The Islanders' last playoff series win was against the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1992-93 playoffs.
• The Penguins roster has 11 players with Stanley Cup rings - Chris Kunitz ('07 Anaheim, '09 Pittsburgh) and Craig Adams ('06 Carolina, '09 Pittsburgh) with multiple rings and Matt Cooke ('09 Pittsburgh), Sidney Crosby ('09 Pittsburgh), Pascal Dupuis ('09 Pittsburgh), Mark Eaton ('09 Pittsburgh), Marc-Andre Fleury ('09 Pittsburgh), Tyler Kennedy ('09 Pittsburgh), Kris Letang ('09 Pittsburgh), Evgeni Malkin ('09 Pittsburgh), & Brooks Orpik ('09 Pittsburgh) having single rings.
• The oldest player on the Pittsburgh Penguins, 36 year-old back-up goaltender Tomáš Vokoun, who has 300 wins in the National Hockey League, has 3 career playoff wins in only 11 career playoff games. Starter Marc-Andre Fleury has won 45 playoff games, 2nd behind only Martin Brodeur amongst active goalies. Chris Kunitz has the most playoff appearances of any skater in the series with 84.
• The Islanders roster has 0 players with Stanley Cup rings. Goaltender Evgeni Nabokov has played the most playoff games of any Islander with 80 post-season appearances, but the leading skater has only 23 - Marty Reasoner, who last played in the playoffs in the 2002-03 season for the Edmonton Oilers.
• Craig Adams was the penultimate pick by the Hartford Whalers, selected with their 9th round pick, 223rd overall in 1996. Their final pick was 231st overall - Askhat Rakhmatullin. Rakhmatullin spent only one year in North America, playing mostly with the Asheville Smoke of the UHL.
• Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is a 2D fighting game developed and released by Capcom for the arcade in 1998 and the Sega Dreamcast on June 29, 2000. The game was later ported to the PlayStation 2, XBox, and recently on PSN, XBox Live, and iOS. It was the only fighting game made for the NAOMI arcade system board - essentially the same hardware that was used in the Sega Dreamcast.
• The 1999-2000 NHL Season ended 19 days before the release of MvC2 as the New Jersey Devils defeated the Dallas Stars 4 games to 2 in the Stanley Cup Finals. That was rookie Brenden Morrow's one and only trip to the Finals thus far. Some 'fun' facts about that season:
It was the Atlanta Thrashers' first season in the NHL
The St. Louis Blues won the Presidents' Trophy with 114 points, but lost in the first round to the Steve Shields and the San Jose Sharks. A young rookie named Evgeni Nabokov played 20 minutes in those playoffs, stopping all 10 shots he faced.
Jaromir Jagr won his 4th Art Ross Trophy with a mere 96 points...but in 63 games. Equally impressive was the fact Pavel Bure scored 58 goals in 74 games for the Florida Panthers - the next highest scorer had 44 (Owen Nolan).
Wayne Gretzky's #99 was retired league-wide on February 6, 2000.
St. Louis defenseman Chris Pronger won the Hart Memorial Player, becoming the only defender since Bobby Orr in 1971-72 to do so.
• Marvel vs. Capcom 2 featured a line-up of 56 fighters (28 each) from Marvel Comics and Capcom's gaming line-up. Three of the Capcom fighters made their debuts in the series - Ruby Heart (a French-speaking female pirate who serves as the 'main character' for whatever semblance of a storyline the game has), SonSon (granddaughter of a character from an eponymous 1984 Capcom game), and Amingo (a sombrero-wearing cactus thing that has little explanation).
• The Dreamcast was better than you gave it credit for.

The Pens mindset in important to me. I'm hoping they respect their opponent and show a killer instinct.

If the run and gun garbage starts, I'll expect another short offseason.

I love the GDT, big. Love it. :yo: I'll be on a plane to my brother's wedding until 6:30 and am racing to my condo that has NBC Sports which I can watch the game.

I hope they watched that Chicago game. Can't take any team lightly.
