All things being equal, I think we probably have a bit more of an edge. However, we just played two brutal series and barely have a day off, so I wouldn't be surprised if we drop another two games on the road out of pure exhaustion. I'd like to think that we would be able to then grind out a win in 7 but not sure if we can do that against this Canes team.

Hoping for Cats in 7 but won't be surprised if it's Canes in 6. TBH, I just wanted us to beat Tampa and Toronto this year - anything else is gravy! Just want to see if either team can win games against each other in regulation this time..

The guy who smoked him got ripped on for not being able to do a single chin up at opening camp after getting drafted.

Turns out that wasn’t such a big deal. It’s why getting a handle on 18 and 19 year old draft picks is so hard.
Rumor is that Edmonton picked Draisatil over Bennett because he was so worthless and weak.

Imagine Calgary had gotten him instead. They might not be rebuilding right now.

We thank you for your service. The team that eliminates Toronto in game 7 each year should get their own parade imo

Canes in 7. But either way I see the eastern conference producing the Cup winner this year.

Going with the Cats. The Canes can’t match their top-end talent. I expect a low scoring, grind it out, with heavy forechecking kind of series.

that would be an incorrect opinion

East is actually the weakest it's been in a long time
Instead of a vague claim that "West >>>East" why not simply post this year's records. After all, there's only 4 teams.

FLA vs DAL: 2-0
FLA vs EDM: 2-0

CAR vs DAL: 2-0
CAR vs EDM: 1-1

Oh, now I see why you didn't.

So why was the previous poster's opinion so incorrect?

Florida needed 7 to get rid of Toronto, a team that was never a serious contender because half its cap is spent on a rotation of 4 disappearing acts with 0 depth scoring.

Carolina has the same roster as always and has shown that it can't make it anywhere with Aho as their 1C. Just not enough game breaking talent.

You answered a poster's opinion that any of FLA/CAR/TOR would beat any of the West's Final 4 "That would be an incorrect opinion. The East is actually weakest it's been in a long time" as if it's a statement of fact when, in fact as applied to the teams in question, it is not.

Even your answer here is merely opinion based on vague generalities containing hint of truth. Very weak sauce when the record says otherwise.

It amuses me you think CAR "has the same roster as always".

As for "Can't make it anywhere", what's your criteria for "anywhere"? CAR is currently has the #1 streak for making the playoffs past the 1st round (7 seasons. EDM #2 at 5 seasons), and is #4 for making the playoffs (behind only TOR, COL,TB). Aho years seem pretty consistently "somewhere", to me.

you can attempt to reduce any numberless interpretation of a team's performance record to "vague generalities" if you disagree with it, as you're doing now, but it doesn't make it any less true.

and you're talking about regular season records? LOL come on bro. I know that you know, as a veteran fan of the sport, much better than that. in fact bringing that up is so weak sauce that citing it only undermines your position

You don't even have the reg season records, that's my point. You have nothing at all for your claim. Nada.

I actually have much more. I have years of both Toronto's + Carolina's playoff performances!

In the current 7 year streak past the 1st round, this is their 3rd ECF.

Are you seriously equating CAR's 10 series wins (so far) in 7 years to TOR's 2 series wins in 9? Who exactly are you comparing them to?
