Worked for the Ducks with Gibson

Gibson is the best goalie prospect in the world. He is arguably one of the best prospects in the league.

Edit: Just saw this guy is 24 as well. Is he a legit prospect even, at this point, or a journeyman. His stats in the A seem solid, but nothing to write home about.

He's small. We will light him up.

Well it is true the Rangers have usually struggled more with big goalies.

I don't think the goalie really matters in this situation too much...if the Rangers can generate the chances they did on Saturday, then they have a real good chance of winning regardless of who's in net. Cross crease passes are insanely difficult for goalies to save and the Rangers got several of those.

More important than the Habs goalie will be the Rangers controlling the game and not letting Montreal jump out early and get all the momentum and crowd behind them

yea I get we are all terrified of unknown backups. Thats in the regular season. This is the ECF with a hungry team on an emotional run. I doubt we see the same rangers who make backups look like Roysek. Please prove me right rangers.

Wasn't Lundqvist 24 when he started?

I feel more nervous about this game than game 1 I think

Eh Hank was a 25 year old rookie and Cam is 26. I wouldnt write this guy off yet. Hes certainly not challenging Price anytime soon though.

Francesa mentioned that we have lost 8 straight game 2's so hopefully we see something different here.

MTL were on their heels the entire game. They were not ready for the speed of this team. I hope they will not adjust accordingly!

The Rangers need to constantly attack and not become like some of the Pitt games that were 5 on 5 but looked like a 3v5 in the defensive zone.

Nah Montreal did have some pressure going in the 2nd period. Wasn't total pressure but they were getting some rushes and Rangers weren't handling the puck well in the defensive zone. Then they blew it wide open in the final minute of the period

Rumors say Habs will start their goons, and here's our answer. Can he handle them all? :D

Not writing him off, just curious about his prospect status. What's the book on him?

He made his NHL debut against the Rangers, LOL.

Tokarski was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the fifth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.[4] Tokarski made his NHL debut on January 19, 2010, against the New York Rangers. He replaced Antero Niittymaki in the Lightning net in the third period after Niittymaki surrendered 6 goals.

Habs had two optional skates after not showing up for game one. Half the team showed.

Let's hope they are arrogant enough to think they just had an off night.

Let's do something magical tonight.

Gibson had a pretty rough game 7.

Habs d with pk the exception will be staying back. Its on the Habs forwards to maintain gap control. If the miss their assignments this game is over early

He seems like a backup goalie. Habs fans say he cant handle a starting job. Wow I didnt know we played this guy already.

Could hurt their offense quite a bit and turn this into a much slower game, but I"m sure they dont' want a repeat of game 1 either.

Any news about whether Murray is in?

We have yet to take a series lead since....08? 09?

This is a rookie goalie who we have yet to face...

...how many times have AHL call-ups stoned us?

I hope we win...it would not surprise me if they lose 2-1 or 2-0. The moment you get comfortable this team will rip it out of you lol.

hubris and complacency really is becoming a possible pitfall tonight.

When the team you just beat 7-2 swap their reigning olympic champion goalie with an AHL rookie, it must be easy to walk onto the ice with blissful dreams of double digits, and to be caught by an opponent crazily motivated by revenge in all areas.

It certainly looks quite possible to extend the series lead tonight, so please, please, please make sure you give EVERYTHING in those critical first ten minutes of the first period.

Get the first goal tonight, keep the momentum, win the game and we may finish this series at home. If they score first, solidify trust in their new goalie, gain the momentum, win the game, then we're almost back to the coin-toss odds at the start of the series. The first period tonight is key!
