I know we have until 6/1 to sign Ebert. He's done playing in the Memorial cup on 5/25 so I gotta think they are waiting until after it's over. My question is... since it is an entry level contract... is there really any negotiating to do? Or, is he just given what the CBA calls for??

Ebert was the last player drafted in his draft year, so yes, there will be negotiations, as the Kings will want to (and can) sign him far below the entry max, we will see if his play has made an impression on Kings scouts, cause if the scouts are impressed, i doubt dean would let him walk,

There can be quite a bit of variance in ELC's. It can vary from 550K to 925K as NHL base salary. It can vary from 0 to 3 million is bonuses. It can vary from ~30-40K per year in AHL to 100-400K in AHL.

Basically the only thing the CBA says with regards to ELCSs; limiting years based on age (1-2-3 years), limited to 925K base salary, eligible for bonuses, required to be two-way.
