I can confirm I was just dumb and copied the TBL database instead of the Pivot. Damn workshop and its numerical folders!

Eck should put a word file in that says "THIS IS PIVOT DB WITH TDL TRADES" and one that says "this is tbl start of season rosters"

Apparently, even if I add my top-10 1st in exchange for a 7th, teams that are "interested" in some of my pending UFAs don't want to trade for them? Nick Bonino + top-10 pick in exchange for our late 7th? Naaah, we'll pass...

Well, now I can find a database in that folder, but it's not the one I saved as that file/folder. But then I re-opened that database from that folder in the editor, and it is completely correct. That doesn't even make computer sense.

Overpaid players are pretty much untradeable. I don't think the AI consider that they are on an expiring contract.

Same thing with contracts about to expire when you're in June.

Sigh...the entire USA midget/high school/prep/junior system is still basically non-functional long-term even in v1.5. After a ton of testing...the USHL just doesn't stay stocked with any players. High school and midget players either go directly to college at 18 or just sit with no team or go to random Canadian teams. I even tried raising the NCAA contract age to 20 but that didn't do anything.

Until the USHL gets its own draft like the CHL leagues, this is never going to work. Really wish we had the ability to create and edit drafts to stock leagues like this with a fresh supply of players each year.

And when real recruits run out the NCAA teams all sign 18 year olds and there is hardly ever a player over the age of 20 on any of the college teams. These players clearly aren’t college ready and should be maturing in the USHL and like leagues first but there is no mechanism for the game to say “this 19 year old has a CA that isn’t ready for college, he should not yet be recruited and signed and should be playing in a USA junior league instead until his CA is high enough or he ages out and becomes a free agent”.

Can you cross post this, and provide any test DBs/saves/screenshots here: 1.5 BETA - NA junior player movement

OK so this is really weird, and I hope my save isn't ruined because I've played like 40 seasons or so.
But anyway a couple days ago I played a bit, saved the game, then left my laptop with the game still running (just sitting on the same date) and when I came back I saw the screen frozen so had to reboot. However after that when I opened EHM again, wanting to load the game but it had disappeared from the 'Load game' map
I checked the EHM folder and it's still sitting there (Quebec.sav) but within the game loading screen it's gone..

save.png

I do know savegames can crash but doesn't that usually happen during the actual saving of the game? Like when your laptop freezes at that specific moment?
I only had EHM open but the game itself wasn't saving/processing/running on holiday mode or anything. Any hope left or is it gone?

Maybe @archibalduk can look at it? I think the game just needs the header proper to determine its a saved game so maybe something corrupted that header?

Hello everyone! First time I'm promoting this on HF (mainly had been on TBL and Reddit prior to this), but letting everyone know (with great help and thanks to @xECK29x, Global United Hockey is now officially on Steam! Using PremierPivot as a base, and taking the database into an extremely fictional direction, I've created my own little hockey world!

If you have any interest, please check it out, here.

Main features of Global United Hockey:
A 96 team International Professional League:
001-1GUH.png

001-2GUH.png

An expanded NHL to 50 teams, many teams reinstated, as well as expanding to the great south (Mexico!) and a 98 game season.
007-1-NHL-Expo.png

For full description of the game please check out TBL: UPDATED 2021-05-15 Global United Hockey & North American Expansion 50 - EHM The Blue Line, but the database is vast featuring players from over 180 countries. And a vast scouting option to create your teams!

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out or ask!

It's very strange that this should be lost if it saved ok. There's nothing I can really do as the saved games are very complex. There isn't a saved game header as such. Instead, the .sav file comprises a couple of initial flags, a table of contents, the database and numerous saved game-related files.

You might want to check the file size of the saved game.

I would suggest uploading the saved game to the SI Bugs Forum along with the most recent rolling backup. The more issues we report there, the more we can hopefully get into the final v1.5 patch.

That's the weird thing. A corrupt save will still show up in that list, you'll just get an error when trying to load it. But it will still be there. Mine isn't
I'm 200% sure it saved ok. I saved it, checked a couple of things within the save, then left my laptop.

If I really wanted, I could go back to a rolling save, but my motivation to do that is really low. The last rolling save was from April I think (date in my save) while in my 'crashed' save I was about to go into the CHL Import Draft (which is at the very end of June), so I'd have to re-do most of the playoffs and, more importantly, the QMJHL draft which is easily spend 2 hours on, and to do that all over again..

File size is about 1,1GB I think, which matches some other saves I still have where I played about the same amount of seasons.

Not sure if reported, but in my Colorado save (first season) agent offers player who is 16yr old and can't be eligible for NHL draft until 2022. Should I report this to SI forums or is this known bug ?

I want to thank you because that made me realize how big the saves were. I never a deleted any of them since I started playing. Freed like 30 GB of space.

I have seen occasions where people have had corrupted saved games not appear in the list, so this isn't this first time but it is very rare.

I'd really recommend uploading this to SI in case there is a bug which can be fixed.

Auckland Wallabies, you know that Wallabies is an animal from Australia not from New Zealand, maybe change it to Auckland Kiwis which suits us much more with the National bird or Auckland Sailors (Auckland is the city of sail).

Cheers from Auckland

Thanks for the feedback! Will take note and make changes in future versions! Any other New Zealandish animals, folklore, or whatnot that would make good team names?

It was originally the Wellington Wallabies for the alliteration, but switched to the larger city!

From a realistic point in Wellington there is unfortunately still not a lot of ice hockey because they have mainly only a half rink. Auckland has the most ice rinks and is by far the biggest city here. I think Kiwis is super unique because a lot of people outside New Zealand call us as Kiwis which is not only fruit, it is our National bird.

I know that is a fantasy league and it looks very interesting which I g will give a deeper look but I thought your main purpose was to build a team with a specific part of a country and with the Wallabies it felt wrong for me as a Kiwi! :) Keep up that nice work.

Kiwi fruit is originally from China.
