Way too early to tell...Florida loses a couple in a row, Leafs win a couple in a roll, and things change.

Panthers now 80% for finishing first.
No way the Leafs catch them.

does anyone actually expect the Leafs to beat the perennial Stanley Cup champions? This will be Tampa's 4th cup right? whos counting at this point they have become a dynasty. Leafs are set up to fail. We lose this series in 6. anyone else we lose in 7

The Atlantic division is too hard because the top three teams are in the tops in the league , the Leafs are the 7th best team in the league, but only 3rd place in their division. The Leafs would be in better shape if they let Boston pass them and finish in a wild card spot and play Carolina 1st round. Not that Carolina is easy, but easier than Tampa Bay or Florida. Losing in the 1st round is likely even though they're in the top 10 of the league.

That's the keep Mrazek plan.

Dubas Keefe et al. have structured this team to win regular season games so that's what they want to max out

Who the leafs played didnt change anything and i think it can be a good thing to play tampa for the only reason than nobody eill expect toronto to win so it can be a really huge source of motivation to prove to everybody they are wrong.

What we do know this year regardless of Leafs final position in the standings including finishing in a wild card spot, that the opposition and road to the Stanley Cup is going to be a lot more difficult QofC than the past 2 years facing CBJ and Montreal.

Leafs are going to need rock solid goaltending of ~ 2.5 GAA or .925 sv% minimum requirement levels to advance deep this year.

Playing Florida x3, Tampa, Boston, Washington all x2 and Stars (in the hunt for a Wild card) are going to be good challenges down the stretch. Although with most of the East spots locked up, they could be facing rested lineups more than usual. The non-playoff teams always seem to play their best down the stretch with players playing for contracts, young hungry prospects wanting to show their stuff for lineups for next year.

Could be a rough final 20 if our goaltending doesn't shape up.

This is da plan .. play hard for next 10 games and get to 97 points and then from then on it is all about managing position .. may or may not have to let Caps pass them too .. da best plan by far is to play Canes .. 1st we have best chance against Freddy who has already screwed up 2 easy Canes wins against our Leafs in past month .. 2nd round 2 will be much easier in Metro then Atlantic .. playing Tampa round 1 and then Florida round 2 is a death sentence for whoever comes out of those wars

Please give us Boston in the first round

I would much prefer them than Florida/Tampa

Also, a chance to avenge our demons. When Vancouver finally beat Chicago, they went to the SCF.

 Right... because when has that ever worked out.

Motivation should already BE there to begin with.

Leafs have failed every year in the playoffs.

I have 0 expectations coming into this.

After last year, I'm just observing, they broke me.

I don't care who we face, If they can't bring it this year, the circus will be back in town.
