What does Chicago need that makes this happen? Have to think it's a low risk move for both sides.

Montreal obviously needs help everywhere, and Strome is still young enough that it's definitely worth a shot at C.

Would Gorton have interest after his success with Ryan Strome in NYR?

Can’t imagine he’s worth very much at this point. Not sure why Montreal would even want him.

Well, the Habs are rebuilding and otherwise looking to shed some contracts. So Mike Hoffman for Strome is something that makes lots of sense.

Most of us are after futures if we make any trades. Create room for the youth to get more minutes and rebuild properly. That's what most Habs fans want. Strome does nothing for us and if we trade either of Lehkonen or Drouin, we will look for youth return (picks and prospects).

Lehkonen seems to be getting attention lately. Not sure what his value is worth but what I do know is supply/demand sets the price. He's a very hard worker that skates very well and causes havoc on his forecheck. Not going to turn the needle offensively but can no doubt help a contender in the bottom 6 and make their team stronger 5/5 in the match-up game.

One more RFA year left after this season. I can see teams calling about him.

No sure why we'd want Strome in a rebuild context.
RFA at the end of the season and possibly enables us to get rid of Mike Hoffman, a player you don't want around young players if trying to instill a culture of accountability. Strome doesn't even have to be qualified.
