Dylan Holloway 55 points in the last 53 games

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

56 points. Would make him the 3rd leading scorer on EDM. Arvidsson and Skinner have 45 points between them, and Holloway is a much more physical player than them.

I always thought it was a dumb decision not to sign Holloway(youth, speed, strength, low cap hit), but i don't think that anyone saw this coming. STL fans have to be thrilled. Snuggerud should be added sometime next year, and maybe Dvorsky. Add them to Thomas and Kyrou, and you have a solid, young, top 6 of the future.
Dvorsky just debuted sunday

This has to be the best use of an offer sheet ever?

Well… probably… but I’m still not over the Blues signing RFA Shanahan and New Jersey getting Stevens ++ as compensation.

I know the trade for Pronger probably never happens if Shanahan isn’t in that deal. Imagine though, Pronger, Stevens, & MacInnis anchoring the D.

No going back though

How is Broberg doing? The ice time and points are way up. The shot diff stats look average.

If EDM could have unlocked the impact those 2 are having in STL (big if?) you'd have to think their chances of winning a cup would be subtantially higher.

Doug Armstrong has had a couple of great moves this season with this and immediately pulling the trigger on Montgomery

I hope this leads to more offer sheets. The way contracts and the cap are set up in the league right now means that UFA players get signed to bigger deals, and RFA players have no leverage the vast majority of the time and are often forced to take or leave whatever scraps of cap space a team has left.

The Oilers, like so many other teams before them, were trying to leverage that to build a deeper team and they got called on it. Offer sheets are basically a failsafe to make sure young players can't be unfairly lowballed and we should see more of them.

What happened with Holloway and Broberg was that they like most clubs, as RFA got left to the end of the off-season as the team had final say on their contract (to match an OS if it ever came). Issue was that the Oilers ended up tight to the cap.

But, those secondary guys are the ones to target against a team tight to the cap. If $4.5-$4.75 AAV (this number for the compensation is based on either the term of the contract or 5 years, whichever is lower). But, that's just a 2nd round pick, which teams are more than willing to part with at the TDL.

Even with a rising cap, there will always be a team or two that ends up tight to it. We just saw Chrychrun sign for $9 mill AAV when a year earlier Hanifin and Hronek got $7.3 mill AAV. All #2 Dmen. So, the rising cap is raising the costs for all players.
