I was hoping we would keep Holloway, and let Broberg walk.

I didn't understand not matching Holloway, and I still don't.

It's unfortunate to, he loved Edmonton and will miss playing that high intensity playoff hockey

I really do not care about the implications for Edmonton, but if you think any team wouldn't be better with Dylan Holloway you are wrong.

What if Holloway was still an Oiler and the Oilers are lower in the standings?

The Oilers look really good right now and that’s without Kane too

I think the primary reason why he wasn’t matched was because him and Broberg teamed up in an unprecedented way to put the Oilers in a bad spot. I imagine that many ownership or management groups wouldn’t feel slighted.

That being said I doubt Oilers management expected Holloway to break out quite like this. Also I doubt he would have the same production in Edmonton that he has had in St. Louis. Edmonton is doing fine but they could of used Holloway this year:

I was more about resigning Broberg than Holloway. But he is douming remakable, a d for him it was the best move to get to a middle team, a team that is stable, but not favourites. I do wonder. Cause I suspect, that young players having a hard time to develope here. What the oilers should do to make better developement steps

Holloway does great on a line where all are equal. Not just hunt for the puck role. He is like european players, allrounded.

His future is incredibly bright. He's 3rd on the Blues with 32 points and has a motor that doesn't quit. His confidence seems to be through the roof. He has 13 points in his last 8 games including a hattrick vs Detroit. He's fun to watch.

I don't expect to see 20 offer sheets accepted each offseason, but I'm guessing more will be attempted than previous years.
Great move by the Blues and first thing you notice about his play is his non stop motor...

He’s a horse, some good young power forwards breaking into the league right now with him, Voronkov, Knies, Slafkovsky, Cuylie.

Feel bad for McDavid and Draisaitl.... a little.

Those 2 should have a couple Cups but their ass management team keeps making the lifting ridiculously heavy
Yesss, because its just so easy to win a stanley cup. Holy f*** where do they get these guys from. This isnt NHL 25 You cant turn on forced trades and turn off salary cap.

It sucks the Blues will never make the playoffs again. These same Blues that have made the playoffs more than all but 5 teams in history. They should sell the team and move to Canada.

I more meant it in the sense I can't see the Blues going on a long-playoff run for quite a few seasons, nor will they be Stanley Cup contenders.

Things can change fast. Look at the 2019 cup winning Blues team. The Blues have a very talented roster and a couple players can change things quickly.

Never should have let Pietroangelo walk. They don’t have the top pair of a cup contender

You cant force a player to sign. There are rumors he wanted to leave for LV. Who knows. JBo / Parayko was the main reason they won the cup. They shut down every top line.

The Blues are actually deeper at forward than the Oilers are, yet Holloway wouldn't get as much of a chance with the Oilers? I don't get it. He'd be the Oilers 5th best forward this year.

I'm agreeing with your post btw
Ok brother, you are completely ignorant if you think that's true.

Do you disagree?

Where exactly do you have the Blues? Do you think they're a top 10 team or something?

They’d be so much better if they had a #2 center. It’s a really good lineup. Good size, speed, physical, several 25+g scorers. They just need to replace Sunny with a legit #2 or #3 center.

Neighbours-Thomas-Buchnevich
Holloway-Schenn-Kyrou
Walker-Sundqvist-Bolduc
Toropchenko-Faksa-Joseph

Fowler-Parayko
Broberg-Faulk
Suter-Tucker

You have a guy pacing for 33 points and an injury prone Arvidsson who's playing at a .5 PPG pace on your second line. How can people say Holloway wouldn't have gotten a chance in Edmonton?

The Oilers obviously have the high end talent but not much depth. Holloway would be playing 2LW for you guys right now. That being said, the Oilers seem to be managing fine with what they've got. Will be curious what they do at the deadline.
